One way to prepare for hard conversations is through role play. Getting clear on what you want to communicate, why it is important to you, and your desired outcomes is important. However, it’s also important to understand what’s important to the person you are communicating with and preparing for objections.
Not every hard conversation is going to go the way that you want, but is it better to know where you stand with someone or let the unknown eat you alive?
The number one feeling that my clients experience after having a hard conversation - regardless of outcome - is relief.
