You know, I'm 62. Ill never, well, never say never, but, I can't see myself there as I get older and I remember my mom saying at a certain age, she felt she was out of the loop. Ill never forget it. I think she was in her late 60s. Listening to these videos, the loop doesn't exist. There's a huge world out there for people over 55 and it can be a great life. The Villages shoukd pay thus couple. Big!

Wow! So many of their comments struck a chord with me. Being a widower myself and retired it has been well... scarey and lonely at times. I keep telling myself that at this stage of my life I'm not looking for a place to live but rather a lifestyle. I heard that term mentioned several times and now my interest has peaked. Thanks for choosing such an important and valuable topic to discuss. And thanks to the interviewees for sharing their own personal insight.

When one lives in a place like Florida its so much easier to meet people because most people are "transplants" and don't know many people... so are reaching out to make new friends, find people to do things with.... unlike "back home" everyone hangs out w/family, friends from childhood and are less interested in making new friends... plus most are in the right age range... I'll bet its nice being in a place where everything is geared around "older folks"... in a world where they are normally pretty much ignored and unappreciated.

I have been doing a lot of crusies in my 60's with my beloved wife, mainly to see places we really wanted to see, and because we found a lot of people fell into our age group and "kinda people we like to meet." She has now decided to dump me, so as soon as the diviorce is sorted ; I think I will be looking here for an end game.

You both are rock stars. You have helped me so much. I now have 3 of my family moving to villages in next year. Including my 89 year old mother who wants to live life again. We did the lifestyle visit in November, she came back home and started downsizing. She told us kids come hell or high water she was selling her condo and moving. See ya when we get there !

Thank you so much for doing the interviews. I'm sure all of the activities, the grounds and the homes are wonderful, but what impresses me so much more is the friendliness and warmth of all of you - it makes me want to pack my bags right now. But, there are some demands and complications with my grown kids and I'm not sure when those things will be resolved. We never stop being parents do we? Who knows, maybe I'll get to meet each of you someday. Until then, I'll be dreaming of becoming a "Frog."

I love this video because it shows how much there is for everyone at the villages. My husband loves to play golf and ride bikes and ski. I am a crafter, quilter, art maker, who loves book clubs and any physical activity. We are going to have fun.

This is excellent!! You guys do such a great job inspiring others to be brave, reach for your dreams and make decisions carefully. I’m so excited to one day have a villa or home in the Villages. It will be down the road, but I’m grateful to have you all pave the way for future Villagers to come and enjoy everything there is to do there. I’m currently married and hope to be forever, although, my husband is 17 years older. So, watching this video gives me the confidence that no matter what...the Villages will one day be my home (probably 2nd home)...as all of my family, kids and grandkids are here in the Phoenix area of Arizona. In fact, I hope to maybe also have my primary home be in Sun City West (a cool community...but nothing compared to the amazing Villages!). Thank you!!! Mia :)

I moved to The Villages from Temecula, CA. I found out about it from a friend. In Temecula, there really was not much to do for retired people. I would drive about 1 1/2 hours to San Diego, Orange County, Riverside, etc. to ballroom dance. The first time I saw The Villages activity guide I was blown away by all of the dancing classes. I couldn't wait to move to The Villages, FL. I have lived here two years and I absolutely love it! There isn't enough time to do all of the activities you want to do in a day. One of the things I would love to see is the opportunity for a single woman to include a boyfriend (who lives outside of The Villages) to attend The Villages restricted events. I pay for my house and all of the amenities. I am single, but pay the same as a couple. In many ways, being single sucks. There are always buy one/get one free for couples, etc.

You're right, that's a glitch. In your case, it would be nice to be able to bring in a guest. I guess you could get them a guest pass, but not on the spur of the moment.

@@JERRYANDLINDA it seems to make it imperative to match oneself with someone, maybe anyone, for special events since everything seems geared towards couples, and assumes everyone IS a couple.... which is not easy for many people....singles seem to be looked down on where I live currently, hopefully it isn't so tough when I get out there to check things out, as a single... I am hopeful, will see how things go

Alot of great info. Another suggestion for future videos is to cover what some of the clubs are. Interview people from various clubs. Your guests made it clear there are LOTS of activities and clubs. Sharing those experiences would be great.

I live south of you all and also single ...I do believe I would like to live there but many of us single women could not afford the prices there.. Consider yourselves very lucky you have the finances to live in a place where you can be involved with many opportunities to enjoy..Many happy years to you all...🌷🌷

Seadogdoc. A woman in the Villages spotted a gentleman she did not recognize. She inquired if he was new to the neighborhood. He responded that no he was not but had owned property there for years but had been in prison. She made so bold as to ask why. He responded that he had murdered his wife and was incarcerated for that reason. She thought awhile and said....So, you’re single then.

Great Video 👍🏻 it would be good to see a video on what the available facilities are if later on the singles need assisted living or a nursing home - do they hock your house to fund that ? What are the costs ? Or do they have nursing agencies that will care for you in your home etc

We developed an emergency contact list for the neighbors in our cul de sac that we all shared. That would be especially helpful for singles.

Enjoyed this video tremendously Jerry and Linda! I happen to be single and have been living in The Villages 3 years now. My neighbors are wonderful and I love going to the neighborhood pool where I have met so many interesting people! I worked two jobs for 7 years to save up the money to move here. That's how bad I wanted to live here after I experienced the lifestyle living for 7 days! Woo hoo!

That was my problem moving to Villages Right after losing my wife. So I was single. My wife thought The Villages would be the Place for me because she new how much I Love golf. It hurt a lot to drive around in my golf cart and I was always alone passing all golf carts with couples in them. My mistake was not checking out the single opportunity I would have had a better life. Thanks again for the show. Love it.

Great Vlog. Choice if participants. It may hard for outsiders to believe how representative these people are. The other source of "Singles" here, for those of us who have been here longer, is widows and widowers. It is surprising how few of these people leave The Villages.
