Wandering Jeepsy

Күн бұрын

While in Houston, TX I searched for places to explore in nature. I thought it would be difficult finding such a place due to it being such a huge city! But I did find this one place, which I was excited to go see. A swamp in Houston? Had to check it out! Shouldv'e known though that being in such a big city, I should not be going to explore secluded places in nature. I will never explore places in big cities, alone again! I am glad that I was able to still see a little bit of this place, cuz I really wanted to see those Cypress trees in the water!

Jeepsy, you did exactly the right thing ! Too many people don't follow their instincts, many times that doesn't turn out well for them. You clearly know that your gut feelings should be trusted. Way to go Jeepsy ! 👍

I have to tell you that I get that feeling every now and then as well. I don’t know if you watch Rusty, who has videos about people who have disappeared in our US parks over decades. It’s a remarkably large number. Many of them are explainable, but many of them are not. Glad you are safe!

Start doubling back and watching...maybe they'll pass you if you're clever enough??? Or set up an extra go pro or? There are definitely alligators around Houston, they find their way into any body of water and they are less afraid of humans than the ones in the country. I'm surprised there weren't warning signs near the water to not let your pets run off leash because the alligators will come out and snatch them if they get too close to the water's edge. A few years ago in a park not far from me a woman was walking her dog on leash along the edge of a waterway and an alligator came out and grabbed her dog and pulled it back into the water, she had the leash wrapped around her wrist and it pulled her into the water as well until the leash came off or broke.
