Higurashi is my absolute favorite. I first watched it in my freshman year of high school. It was my first horror anime, and I loved it so much that I bought all the manga (and I barely read, it’s literally the only manga I own other than my Hetalia manga), (I’m 18 now and graduated high school in June), I have an entire shelf decorated to higurashi, I even have figurines. To say that I’m still obsessed with it is an understatement. Many people don’t give it a chance because they just don’t like the old animation style of the first 4 seasons/or they just think it’s “yAnDeRe LiTtle gIrlS kiLliNg PeOpLE” but it’s so much deeper than that. It’s my favorite series of all time. This is a beautiful cover, just like the cover of the op. I’ve always wanted to be a singer and post videos like this on KZbin, but microphones are so expensive and I have no idea how to go about it. 🥺

Ini Miney Omg that’s so cool to have a whole shelf dedicated to just Higurashi lol. Julia and I must have been 13 and 9 years old respectively when finding out about the anime (yeah ik i was probably too young but you know the minimal supervision vibes.) I know a lot of bigger cover artists can really ham up the whole “you need good equipment!” aspect of making videos, but its really not as important as people say it is. Like yeah you probably wouldn’t want to use a toaster to record, but you don’t need 2,000 dollar equipment to make decent videos (and some if the stuff that is expensive you could probably acquire through -other means- anyways.) A lot of people use a Blue Snowball for recording, and while people complain about how overused it is, it’s not without good reason, and it’s only about $50. There’s mixing software out there that’s not that hard to obtain. Audacity is an obvious one and it’s one we used to use all the time before i switched over to Adobe Audition (which i do not pay for by the way), there’s also Reaper which has a 60 day trial that doesn’t seem to actually run out, and Studio One has a free version that I checked out recently. More than that though, it doesn’t really matter that much if it doesn’t sound great at first. As cliched as it sounds, having fun with it is what’s important!

Maybe add a new computer to your list of investments then. You can probably get a cheap laptop for a few hundo that will be good enough to install and use this kind of software. I mean, we made our first videos with Audacity and Windows Movie Maker (which unfortunately isn't around anymore, but I'm sure you can find something like it), so it's really not that complicated to get started! 😊 - Julia

I get this, it was also my first horror anime, i would read the manga at school and naturally kids would treat it like i was reading "Kiddie books" then i finally one day showed them one of the parts that's really...y'know. And they all looked mortified. But this series is what got me into anime in the first place so it's a anime i hold deep to my heart. And i recommend it to anyone that i can that's willing to watch these kinds of anime. I've gotten a few into it so. :3 But i also lived in a house where my dad thought being into anime would result in me like failing classes or becoming to focused on it and not succeed because it's what happened with a relative so i had to keep this fact hiddn. Eventually he found out and over time mellowed out to it when he saw i kept my school work up to date. And now anime's like a massive part of my life. Higurashi always on my radar. I don't own all the manga sadly. I'm missing all of the second half

Amazing job. I love the lyrics, and I like that you incorporated all the artwork pieces from the ending since they're all so great (awesome timing on the Keiichi one which is my fav). Higurashi Gou has been amazing so far, and I'm so glad we have your awesome covers of the opening and ending song to go with it!

I covered Nageki no Mori and the original Higurashi no Naku Koro ni opening when I was a youngin, but both of those ain't so great now. I do intend to redo them both some day (and maybe the other openings/endings of the show too.) It all depends! -Candace

Wonderfully constructed lyrics; doesn't lose too much of the essence of the song over language barriers. Vocals-wise, it was very pleasing as well (Though I'm practically no one to commentate on this xd) although I do have a suggestion for the vocal output, as a listener that is. I think the treble is way too high? Not sure if it's the setup or anything but the bass is nigh non-existent. The music instrumental was also a tad too loud so it overpowers the lyrics. Thence I think that it could be reduced a little so that the focal point would be the singing rather than the music. When all is said and done, superb work.
