Our Beko has just popped this suppressor (which I mistakenly first took as being a capacitor) after the machine has been tripping the power breaker when getting warm. Thought I’d better take a look and found the top had blown off it and the film popped out. New one ordered!. Great vid, very informative, its good to see things not being thrown away and repaired instead

Usually the lower heater is used for the last 10 minutes of drying called “cooldown” phase wich on these it never fully cooled down fully as that heater doesnt get tooo hot,it does what is supposed to do,one way to check if mid dry cycle to check temperature and compare it to the final temperature wich should be not under 30-40C

You had the exact same machine around a year ago, which also had a blown suppressor! Common fault on these along with the motor starting capacitor as previously stated.

My dryer starts and heats up, runs for a while and then trips my electric in the house, could this mains filter be my problem?

How to know which pin on suppressor is a earth, N or L? I have 4 pin all in one line and 4 pin above suppressor, like the yellow one for Beko tumble dryer. I have 6 wires to connect and I know wire colour code, but I don't understand marking code on the suppressor 🤷 is earth always connected above and if I have 4 pins for Earth, but only 2 cables does it metter if they go on upper or lower pin?

Some dmm's have a capatance range, mite be handy for you. But you have to take the cap out of circuit unless it's an ESR meter.

You should make a video of this, I would watch it! I looked at getting a separate meter for capacitance. But I have very complicated cost benefit analyses that I apply to purchases. So very few things actually get bought, and a lot of what I have is based on opportunities from skips or car boot sales. I would really like a megger too but they are expensive. I found a new looking one in a skip recently, but it was there for a reason, water damage.

Condenser dryers suck, take twice as long. sneaked one into an apartment so I did not have to use a laundromat. Kept the washer I had with it, plumbed into the bathroom sink with a dishwasher hose.

I think you'll find that vacuum cleaners suck! But I agree with you about condenser dryers, I used to use on in university and I would wash one load, then dry two half loads, seemed to work better. Over here a washing machine in every house is the norm, only very small apartments won't have them. I heard that in the USA there are clauses in rental contracts saying that you can't have a washer in some apartments! Is this so? I don't think it is like that here at all.

Any idea already what you're gonna do with it? There isn't much to do with a dryer, besides of using it tbh.
