Fabulous, dude. I just bought a dead DC49 and then watched this vid., which meant I had the dead '49 fully taken apart, ready to receive a new motor bucket, within 40 minutes - thanks ever so - *really* helpful!!

Sorry to argue with you my dearest friend, but DC12 was the first mains powered / digital motored vacuum cleaner that Dyson ever made. It was only for Japan but I have a pre-production prototype in the collection that I somehow managed to find on Ebay. Love the DC49. Bought one brand new, used it once, put it back in its box. I'm hoping it'll be a collectible one day lol XD

You do don't you, I remember you getting that. I'm half right then, the more popular one and the only/first one sold in the uk... Sure there was a digital motor dc08 or dc19 too but bar seeing a catalogue listing for one, don't think I've ever seen or know anyone with one...

Hi Sam . Great content in your videos but I was wondering if you ever came across this problem on a dyson dc50. The brush bar permanently runs all the time. The brush bar runs when it is in the upright position and the disable switch doesn't do anything either. Thought I would ask before I start stripping it down. Cheers

Dreadful short lived piece of tat, insanely user-unfriendly. On the plus side, at least it turns out you can grow strawberry plants in the bin!. As always, great video, and I honestly don't mourn the demise of a Die-Soon. Apropos of nothing, I got Richie to Frankenstein an old Hoover hose onto my DC26 thing, and he managed it somehow - it's like a different cleaner, it's easy to move, the hose is lovely and flexible, and you can actually vacuum round a corner without the damned machine falling over. Result!
