My HEPA filter has a bunch of black soot like substance. I can run my fingers on it and it comes off. Water does not rinse it off. What would be the best way to get that off? Or should I just get a new filter?

Thanks for this video! Small additional tip- I use a seam ripper (typically used for sewing) to clean the hair out of the brush- I personally find it easier than scissors. Thanks again!

Thanks to this video I fixed my Dyson Animal!!!! It sucked up a baggie ??? It soundalike an airplane and would turn off after a minute!!! after washing and changing filters I took the head off and bingo!!! It Work like a charm now, thanks sooooo much!!! You have a new subscriber!!!

Great job on this video! You cleaned 80% of the vacuum except the actual cyclone 🌀 part of the vacuum! I had no idea 💡 that this vacuum had a hidden filter inside the housing unit of the main hub!! Better clean it or you'll burn up your motor on this perfectly made vacuum thank u for this video it helped me & my mom tremendously and even stumbled upon this major discovery! 😅

My Dyson must be older, it doesn't have the same structure. I inherited it, and I never had the instructions or a manual. It is an upright, meant for pet hair . The purple filter is a flat, round disc. And the cyclone can definitely be rinsed. I'll have to check if the ball comes off 🤔 Very glad to find your video!

I use a rip stitch tool. When sewing you use a tool to rip out threads. Its sharp like a razor and on pass through on a hairy bar will do it. FYI
