I’m honestly loving her design so much. She was initially going to be even more humanoid, which you can see in her early concept arts if you look at her champion theme. She has a completely body and no chest face. However, since they realized that people wanted a monster champ so much and since they’re already making a monster champ, they decided to make Bel’veth’s design more monstrous instead, so out goes the body, arms, and legs, and enter the chest face. Hopefully the actual monster champ coming next year is even more monstrous than Bel’veth is right now.

@@twopunchman9598 what I think Kindred needs is just a better E to make them stand out. I like the Mounting Dread concept, but make it a stacking slow with a stun on the third hit. This would give them gank potential jungling and give them an edge/niche when they are ADC. It's an ADC that can run you down and seal your fate in a 1v1. It fits thematically! And maybe a slightly larger heal on their W Passive when in the jungle so players new to them don't have that high barrier to entry when clearing.

Little bit of everything everywhere all at once.

5:15 I haven't read up on her lore yet so I don't really have much of an idea on how her mind control powers work, but I just assumed her mind control isn't completely absolute. Like she clearly doesn't look completely human even with her fake head, but maybe her mind control canonically makes everyone fill in the blanks and see her as a real human and not as some weird uncanny valley thing. But her powers aren't strong enough to make them see her as human in her real form since there are more blanks to fill if that makes sense. Also, she's clearly the most human of the void champs and I think that's purposely being reflected in her look. Her interactions point out that Rek'sai instinctually acts as a mother to the rest of the Xer'sai due to her being created by the watchers using data from living beings on runeterra. Her fighting back against the watchers is also because she understands that she was created to destroy this world, but her instincts tell her not to since she wants a home for herself (hence why she wants to remake runeterra instead of destroying them as the watchers do). Her willingness to work with Kai'sa to drive back the watchers is probably a part of the human data used to create her. I got the impression that Bel'veth subconsciously, whether she knows it or not, WANTS to play at being human.

I'd say true damage is the easiest way of making a character's damage be stable for all stages of the game, if you want an ability that just deals X damage without making it scale like fuck or have base 2000 damage just make all the damage relative. Also makes itemizing harder and you know how hard itemizing counters certain champions sometimes (say hi to Aatrox in the corner), and they just dont want that to happen for some reason.

I think Bel’Veth’s story really highlights the idea they’re going for. She’s not some good monster mimicking for the sake of expanding the void. She’s the heart and soul of the Changed Void, something inhuman playing as human because there’s that envy. And when you know and understand that, her design is really interesting and compelling. Including the fact that the human face is false. That in truth no matter how much she talks a good game about her goal, she is still a creature of the void. No matter what she does, she still has one goal: Consume. Not just a few people. Everything.

I'd imagine the cute face as a lure is also a fallback for instances where mind control would be insufficient, given what Kai'sa is, probably a good guess she would resist such a thing for example. 2. True damage has been a repeated design shtick of void related champions since its inception, while not exclusive and 100% of the time, void champs tend to be the ones who get it the most. (Cho R, Vel'koz passive, Kog'maw passive) 3. Using a red Kayn ult as a indicator for how much her E reduces burst is a bit of a low swing, given that it already does piss poor damage against squish champs to begin with, if we are to assume she has about 1000 hp in the clip (And its probably closer to 900 mind you) he ended up doing about 2/3rds to 3/4s of a single 100 hp chunk, which makes me think its closer to ~30% dr, which depending on the CD, isn't even that big of an offense. 4. Frozen heart stonks on the rise.

IIRC its just the highest AD value of the one he kills. So it's not stacking. Edit: yep it doesn't stack, here's the info from his patch history. Scoring a takedown with/while Death Mark is active permanently grants Zed non-stacking 5 (+ 5 / 10 / 15% of target's AD) bonus attack damage (he always keeps the highest value between his current bonus and his latest takedown)

I agree regarding her true form design. Void creatures are a corrupted versions of living matter, and even though their overall theme seems very chaotic, you can see 'the alive' part of it; which shows through having design motifs from nature, like symmetry, golden ratios and overall very creepy design at times (like that fractal shaped vegetable or smth) :D Having asymmetry in monster designs that are man made(Mundo, Warwick, etc.) are expected, and even very much appreciated, but since these are void creatures I think they should be as abstract and jarring as possible.

The one reason I do think that Bel'Veth will be "OP" is that in the late game, she will be extremely powerful, kind of like Nasus and Kayle. Her infinite stacking attack speed seems to make her able to one-shot people super easily, and that combined with her healing and damage reduction is going to be insane.

Until she gets her ultimate, some lifesteal and a decent amount of AD and her true damage autos don't give a shit about Rammus' armour. Her real biggest counter is Renata Glasc; get her team to position close together, then ult her and watch her 1v4 her entire team with crazy attack speed, then you can have a better chance of winning by 5v1ing her. Also, Renata's shield lets the affected champion potentially run far enough away from allies to prevent Bel'veth getting off a good true damage ult or potentially denying her the ult entirely by moving far enough away/over a wall).

She is insanely fun for objective farming, cuz you're not gonna get that stacking true damage effectively in teamfights, but you CAN get it effectively when trying to sneakily solo a dragon or herald early. Guinsoos definetly seems like a must build on her.

I think it might be possible to build her top because of how much she likes Rift Herald and Baron. And when she does get to lvl 6 her true damage stacking becomes more potent as she only has a single target to focus on. She'll be such an insane pusher when she's got her stronger ult, especially if it's with Baron buff. Not only would she have Baron buff and her ult stat bonuses, but every enemy minion that dies gives her another minion. It's insane. Her pushing power will be bonkers.

I could be looking into this too much but everyone I've seen isnt talking about the fact that she could be an INSANE tank. Build sunfires, titanic, frozen heart etc with conq or grasp and you can last for a long time in fights and provide a lot of AoE pressure

Ryze is constantly carrying things, constantly walking. The man's on a nonstop marathon. His physique makes perfect sense for his story, and that's not even counting the magic. Meanwhile in Bel'Veth's story, it's explicity stated that she doesn't lie. And yet she's got a sexy 'lure' face? The luring face explanation was made by the community, not by riot, as a way of explaining the sexy face, and riot wiped their ass with it. Now we just have no explanation as to why she's got a sexy face other than sex sells. And it's fair to have sex sells, so long as it doesn't take away from a character. No one complains that Ahri or Rakan are sexy. No one minded having Miss Forunte be sexy, until Riot decided they wanted to have her be serious, and they were forced to retcon her entire design bcs the pirate hoe design wasn't working with a serious character. They were really close to hitting the mark with Bel'Veth, and fell just shy.

@@mimic3872 first of all, in my opinion all summoners should be ap. I find yorick to be an unhealthy design for a summoner personally. So we will be going with the assumption of ap, I will also not be bothering with ratios. Passive: The Passive is what would store her monsters, in fact I'd say that it actually stores them as her current voidlings since they do match her design quite nicely. Say, every large monster stores one of each? I don't know how strong her voidlings are but I would change them from lane pushers to champion killers which means they'd have to deal some decent damage and apply spell effects. They should also target similarly to heimerdonger turrets where as in they attack the last entity the player auto attacks. Q: I'm actually fine keeping her current q I find it very interesting and I find mobility to be quite important for the jungle role. Although I do think it would be nice to have some sort of boost for her minions I don't think it's necessary. W: I would leave it the same except reduce the ap ratio (I know I said I wouldn't bother with ratios but 125% that's crazy) I'm not sure if the dash reset should be kept however. E: the E should be turned into some sort of mobility for her creeps, similar to Elise grapple where she brings her spiders, or yorick mark. Personally I think it should be a skill shot as a piece of coral to sort of lure them with increased move speed to keep her theme, maybe even root as well but that would be a bit much considering she has a knockup, perhaps take the knockup from the w and move it to a root on the e? R: instead of a true R I'd treat it like a basic ability, low cooldown but this would be her method in which she brings forth her minions. It would spawn 2 of each type, so 2 melee and 2 ranged with a set duration. With a long enough cooldown that she could only have a single set, maybe 2 sets out with a LOT of ability haste. That's just something thrown together while I'm watching the hobbit but I'm not claiming to be better than riot at champion design I'm just sick of seeing attack speed, hyper mobility, and super flashy carry on every champ ya know?

Her E seems to be basicly useless without the root, up until lvl 6, and with the root, you'd basicly create a Malzahar combo where you root and the minions destroy the rooted person, except from how you described it, the minions seem to be much stronger. I kind of have to agree with Rekashal here. You created a champ that you'd want to play AS, but didn't think if it would be fun to play against at all. With her current kit she seems preety strong but in a situation where a fight with her still seems fine. With your kit, I'd be scared to ward cause I'd get smacked upside the head, then rooted and gang banged by a single champ and their minions. To me it sound like you just want more mages in the game and less of all other role. Nothing wrong with that, as someone who likes playing Malza I do hate when some champ appears and smacks me 20 times before I walk 5 steps. However every playstyle fits diffrent people and some don't like to rely on their spells to do anything, in which case the "atack speed super flashy carry" is much more fitting for them. But I do see your point, out of the latest champs, only two have been truly ability-focused and not about smacking you silly. Renata Glasc relies on her abilities more than attack speed (tho there are definetly some "AD Renata wow broken OP" videos out there, lol), Vex is the magiest of mages, even countering all the hyper mobility happening lately. I don't disagree that I'm describing a character I'd like to play, but it has been so long since I've had a character to enjoy especially since they took one away from me I guess I'm just a little salty. The problem is more so WHY are we getting attack speed flashy carry after attack speed flashy carry, yes vex was added to counter them but she does no better job than lissandra, she's basically just even more emo short lissandra with you guessed it: a resetting dash. And Renata was made to further ENABLE attack speed super flashy kits (although I adore her ult it's actually really cool). If you are wondering the character I say they took away is mordekaiser. He was an actually interesting, and dare I say thoughtful? Character. His magnetic metal ability was quite possibly the coolest ability in the game imo, even more so than the ult which I also loved since I could have a whole ass ghost dragon.
