The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of BPd (belantamab mafodotin, pomalidomide, dexamethasone) versus PVd (pomalidomide, bortezomib, dexamethasone) in patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) who had received at least one prior therapy.
BPd significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) and showed a trend toward better overall survival (OS) compared to PVd.
BPd also resulted in deeper and more durable responses, though it was associated with a higher incidence of ocular adverse events.
Overall, BPd demonstrated a clinically meaningful PFS benefit and manageable safety profile.
