Circulating vitamin D level and mortality in prostate cancer patients: a dose-response meta-analysis
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30352...
Results
Higher vitamin D level could reduce the risk of death among prostate cancer patients.
Association of circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D level with prognosis of prostate cancer
We conducted a dose-response meta-analysis
Seven eligible cohort studies, n = 7, 808
The summary HR of prostate cancer-specific mortality
An increment of every 20 nmol/L in circulating
vitamin D,
(20 nmol/L = 8 ng/ml)
HR = 0.91, (P = 0.002)
Every 20 nmol/L increment in 25-hydroxyvitamin D level was associated with a 9% lower risk of,
all-cause mortality,
and prostate cancer-specific mortality.
Pooled HRs were stable and not obviously changed by any single study.
No evidence of publications bias was observed.
This meta-analysis suggested that higher 25-hydroxyvitamin D level was associated with a reduction of mortality in prostate cancer patients,
and vitamin D is an important protective factor in the progression and prognosis of prostate cancer.
Risk estimates with 95% CI for the association between 25(OH)D and prostate cancer-specific mortality.
Mechanism
Vit D, could cause cell cycle arrest,
and induce apoptosis,
inhibiting cell proliferation in several prostate cancer cell lines
Protection from prostate epithelial cell lines from oxidative stress
Will supplements help?

Another thing that helps even more with cancer prevention and also recovery, is some extended fasting. Also helps with the problems many develop after taking chemo. On top of all that, it makes you metabolically more healthy meaning your vit D levels will also go up over time. For many people they are quite hard to raise, otherwise.

I love John. But he still called people in the know about covid and the vaccine conspiracy theorists. While guiding people to take the vaccine. I'm not a doctor but seen enough evidence to know he was sadly mistaken. When you meet the doctor who worked alongside fauchi for 20 years on the virus and vaccine, I would say they have credibility and are clearly not a conspiracy theorist. I'm not a doctor, but I understand the bodies immunity system works very well. It's far better than the vaccine. I love John, and he finally caught on and speaks the truth, but I keep an eye on him. He was in the beginning misleading masses of people to life-long problems. That's pretty serious.

Fasting can help your vit D levels because when your insulin level is high your body not only uses it very quickly but it also becomes locked up in the fat cells and unable to move through the body. Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time. Fasting increases nitric oxide release. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers, but some patients may need continued acid reducation medication while fasting. Telomeres are lengthend and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there. After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles as much as 1/3 of all immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire immune system. Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures. Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer. Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus. When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state. What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast, though if the amount is tiny you will go back into ketosis very quickly. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many medications are dangerous to take while fasting so you may have to talk to your dr. about discontinuing them during a fast. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building. Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS. The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses. Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention! When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, which destroys them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer. In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting. Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level. A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice. I was successfully treated for prostate cancer in 2014. It does not mean immunity forever, however. Just being realistic. The last time, I tested 41.5 ng/ml (x 2.5 = about 103 nmo/L ) for Vit D3 at the end of December 2021. I will keep up this Vitamin D3 intake (and added K2 last year) and increase the dosage, since I was taking a fairly low daily dose of 2500 IUs. I also started taking K2 after watching your videos. Government policy won’t change because there is no money to be made by the pharmaceuticals if this takes place. The responsibility lies with us as individuals to find this out for ourselves. Thank you for everything that you do.

Hi John - I have Breast Cancer. There are whole armies of us out here taking supplements, off label drugs and other remedies. We know the medical professionals do not have all the answers or even in most cases the right questions. Trying to talk to my surgeon about diet etc and it's impact on energising my cancer and I get nowhere. I am taking around 20-25 supplements including Vitamin D and I am only just getting started. I did ask my GP for Vitamin D to try to lower the cost of what I am doing but he refused to help unless I had seriously low levels so I bought mine from the Supermarket. Would love more videos like this please helping us unfortunate ones to battle cancer and other people to hopefully avoid getting it in the first place.

I started taking it about three years ago as well. When the authorities were trying to scare the hell out of everyone in early 2020 about the risks of Covid-19, I started looking for some kind of intervention that could help prevent me from getting the virus. I'd always heard of vitamins, of course, but had never really had much interest in them. I discovered vitamin D3 and vitamin C, then zinc, quercetin, and vitamin K2. I now take those every day, and for the past three years I have not had as much as a single sniffle. I chose not to take the covid-19 injection, and I've never felt better. I turn 73 in August. 🙂

@@tenayshus The K2 will allow calcium to be deposited in the bones, where it belongs. It may have been tissue calcification around the hair roots that caused your hair loss. More than 3 years ago, when I started taking higher amounts of magnesium (which works in concert with VitD and K2), a bald patch on my crown grew back. Fasting can help a great deal with cancer prevention, which is largely a disease of metabolism, inflammation and hypoxia. It is also difficult or even impossible to have a high level of vit D if you are metabolically unhealthy, and the quickest way to achieve that is to do a small amount of extended fasting! Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time. Reflexes and short term memory are increased. Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. My dad had prostate cancer and was given 5 years to live. He was told by his brother who had had prostate cancer years earlier to take pycnogenol. His brothers cancer went into remission due to the pycnogenol. A professor at Nottingham university was amazed how pycnogenol had cured the cancer. My dad started taking it and he lived a further 20 years and died at the age of 87. The professor knew it worked but couldn’t prescribe it as its a herb. My dad also told a few people he met at the hospital who had prostate cancer and the same happened to them. Please if you have prostate cancer try it, it might just save your life.

Interesting information as usual John. On a recent visit to hospital I had a discussion with my doctor about vitamin D, and I cited a couple of peer reviewed papers with positive correlation between vitD and prevention of kidney disease. She was completely disinterested and patronised me for having little knowledge on the subject.

Fasting will also help a great deal with COPD. And it also helps raise your vit D levels by making you metabolically more healthy! Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. Telomeres are lengthend and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there. Reflexes and short term memory are increased. Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting. My Primary Care Doctor at the VA Hospital (I'm an American Veteran) always checks my Vitamin D level along with everything else and, even with the 4000 IU/100mcg of Vitamin D3 I take per day, my Vitamin D level is always considered at a very good and safe level. It's great to know that Vitamin D helps with Prostate Cancer, too. I knew that it, along with all the Vitamins and Supplements that you, Dr. Campbell, have been recommending help boost the immune system, but I didn't know just how far reaching they can be. I also take CoQ-10 and Omega-3 from two sources, Krill Oil and Flaxseed Oil, with the latter taken when I get up and the first when I go to bed. Yes, I take 100mcg of MK7 Vitamin K2 with 100mcg of Vitamin D3. The VA Pharmacy doesn't carry K2, so I purchase it myself. I always tell family, friends and acquaintances about the regimine I take for my immune system, which I got from you, and I emphasize to blacks and those with darker skin how important it is that they take Vitamin D3 and K2 for the reason you stated. And back when masks were a thing, I always told them why wearing a mask, for them, even when others didn't, was good for them because they get less Vitamin D from the sun due to their darker skin. Thanks for the expanded coverage of Vitamin D. You're a Saint, Dr. Campbell. A Guardian Angel. Thank you for everything you do for uis!

Often these men were never ever sick in their life before and that shock itself needs release (especially if anyone close to them died of prostate cancer - one client his father AND their family pet dog BOTH died of prostate cancer the same month). Having listened avidly to you Doctor Campbell back at the beginning of Covid I went and researched further on Vitamin D and the logic, in the Northern hemisphere we dont get the sun. So I paid for blood tests found I was very low and started to take 4,000 IU along with 200mg Vit K. After 6 months blood tests showed I was just above normal levels. 2 years on I suffered an "I didnt see you" impact to my leg whilst out on my motorcycle resulting in a horrible double compound Tib and Fib fracture, my foot was smashed with bones sticking out my lower leg. At 65 the prognosis was not good to keep the leg and a lot of shaking of heads resulted. Superb care from the NHS resulted in me keeping the limb with an internal nail and skin grafts, and no infection despite being thrown down a track covered in cow s*ite. Turns out Ive real good bone density and fast healing plus a very active immune system. Ive always kept myself reasonably fit walking at least 3 miles a day and some mountain biking / weights, I eat well. I put my ability to walk out that hospital after 4 weeks down to 1) a brilliant surgeon and team 2) correct Vitamin D/K levels. I think all concerned were amazed at my recovery rate / bone growth. 4 months on Im walking up to 8 miles and although Ive a limp Ive 2 legs and can see down the road near normality......Thanks Dr Campell. BTW come winter Ill follow your example upping to 8,000 IU Vit D.

Thank you Dr John. I spread the word about Vitamin D + K2 to all I talk to, especially doctors. Most doctors still think that Vitamin D causes problems with the arteries. How about addressing that in a video.

The doctors are probably worried about calcium depositing in the arteries. That is eliminated when you take D3 with K2.

My understanding is you take K2 with D3 as this transports the D3 from the arteries to the Bone where it belongs.

@@dwaynejoyce1357 I understand that, however, If Dr John were to create a short video for doctors explaining this then I could point the doctors to that video. Dr John has more credibility than I do.

I listened to your advice on Vit D 2 years ago. I have been taking and still take 4000 iu + K2 since that time. I have a bit of feedback for you. In Dec 21 my Vit D blood test came back at 94nmol/L which I was happy with. I would prefer it to be around 120. I have just had the Vit D blood test again. This time for about 3 months before the test, nearly every time I went out to work in the yard I took my shirt off, previously I left my shirt on. So April 2023 my levels are 174 nmol/L. I find that absolutely incredible. So at my best guess I am out in the sun for maybe 3 hours a week [minus my shirt] Not wearing a shirt is the only difference. My location is Queensland Australia.

Vitamin D3/K2 helps to cleanse NAFLD. Also, just a daily handful of inexpensive pumpkin seeds are good for the prostrate, and colon. They’re full of fibre, and help with the issue of constipation. They may also help with male patterned baldness.

Great information. I've been taking 5000-6000 IU of Vit D with K2 for the last 3 years. I take it everyday, as more and more doctors see many benefits of it.

Totally agree. With regards to politicians here in the uk we need a ‘peaceful revolution’ for ‘we are the many not the few’ and the majority have good hearts. Politicians of all hues are not ‘fit for purpose’ since the post WW2 socialist labour govt who bought in ‘all the good stuff’ (nationlising essential supplies, transport, nhs etc ) all flogged off and eviscerated by all parties since mrs thatcher…….. We can all vote on our phones now! Enjoy

Vitamin D3 should always be taken in combination with vitamin K2. These two vitamins work together synergistically and ensure that calcium obtained from food is deposited in the bones and not in the arteries.

I had stage 3 colon cancer and prostate cancer diagnosed 4 years ago. I had an operation to remove the two tumours from the colon and radiotherapy together with hormone treatment for two prostate tumours. Fortunately didn’t need chemo in either case. I have been on high dose of Adcal (Vitamin D and C combined) Like Finster no colds or respiratory problems since.

Very heartening findings. One thing I’ve become aware of as a platelet donor though, is that higher vitamin D levels appear to reduce platelet count. Something to think about and/or discuss with your doctor.

High John. Thanks for your videos. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November 2022. Gleeson 3 + 4. It is located in a well defined area. A second area was scored as Gleason 3 + 3 (not regarded as cancer). Next week I am having a Nanoknife (irreversible electroporation - IRE) procedure to 'kill off' the 3 + 4 area via apoptosis. Some studies have suggested that this will also increase the likelihood of an immune response to mestastatic spread of prostate cancer from the circulating dead cells. Unfortunately this procedure is still regarded as experimental in Australia even though this procedure has been performed thousands of time worldwidesince 2009 and over 400 times since 2013 by my surgeon. It is not covered by Medicare or health funds. It will cost me $AU25,000 but only involves an hour to complete with very few side effects. Lucky I don't drink, smoke or gamble. What price quality of life. I have been taking vitamin D3 + K2 for a a while following your videos. My osteopenia has been 'cured' and I will now increase my dosage from 50mcg to 100mcg per day to increase my survival rate from prostate cancer. It can't hurt. Perhaps you could do a video on IRE
