This is from the Chinies competition The Singer. Dimash was invited as a Wild Card, because he won the Slavic Bazar competition. Usually the Singer competition is only for Chinies Singers and the contesters are all profesionelle singers. Dimash came in second place. Could have been his own choise, as Dimash is a very polite and humble person.

This was Dimash’s intro to the “adult stage” at 22.5 years old. He had to go first during this competition because he was the only non Chinese and invitee in 2017. He is now 28 and really close to completing his doctorate degree. SOS will always be his signature song. Pay attention to his English, (the only language I know) now compared to where he is now. He had his first solo concert in New York at the Barclays Center on 12/10/2019 which has been a dream of his since he was a little boy. There is no singer who even comes close to his technical ability. He doesn’t have a specific genre but can sing in many. Thanks for your reaction.

What's also interesting, here, is that this is his very first performance, there - actually, he's the first performance in this months-long singing competition. He's out of his country, so not known, yet, in China - a virtual stranger. This performance was so powerful - going out to around 6 million, I think, both online & those in attendance - that he required a security detail to go out & about, afterward. He became so popular that his first album went platinum in 37 or 47 seconds. He's beyond amazing. This competition is also where Igor Krutoy was inspired to come out of retirement - the billionaire pianist - to work with him & his 7-octaves & perfect pitch. Welcome to the Dimash world, you have just crawled into a world which will blow your socks off. This was 2017, he was 22 years age here, a live show. Dimash was a wild card, expected to go out in two weeks. This is a show of invited professional singers, the audience is made up of a mixture of coaches, singers, and just people. After this one performance the show had views of 600 Million. Dimash was first on, he sung this song in French, he doesn't speak it or understand it. Then he had 6 octaves, that was then. Now today he has over 7 octaves. He basically didn't understand anything, but sung in French, English, Russian and his own language, Kazakh, Igor Krutoy, came out of retirement to play and compose for Dimash, he has collaborated with numerous renowned singers in classical and contemporary music, such as Anna Netrebko, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Aida Garifullina, Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian, Alla Pugacheva and Irina Allegrova. Dimash is university-trained in classical as well as contemporary music, and is known for his exceptionally wide vocal range, his highest was a D8. He has performed songs in thirteen languages. Although offered a position at the Astana Opera, he decided to carve out his career in contemporary music, mixing classical elements and traditional Kazakh music with pop music Dimash completed a Broadway Musical master class in 2009. In 2014, he graduated in Classical Music with Major in Vocal (Bel Canto) from the music institute of K. Zhubanov University in Aktobe . Began his studies in Contemporary Music (Jazz, Pop) at Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana, where he graduated with Major in Vocal on 27 June 2018. On 18 June 2020, he graduated from the same university with a Master's Degree in Composition by defending his Master's thesis with a perfect score. Receiving a recommendation for admission to doctoral studies in music. He knows exactly what he is doing on stage with his instrument. It does look effortless, Dimash is known as the best singer in the world. Because of the range he has and what he can do with his voice. This is the start of your journey with Dimash, Dimash doesn't have fans he has an army, (He calls them his "Dears" they will probably give you a list of the songs to follow if your interested in what he can do. He came in second in this competition, mainly due to politics. He should have won it hands down. There are coaches all over the world gaga about this guy and students of music studying Dimash. Dimash a la fecha a cantado en 14 idiomas, participo en varias competencias, presentaciones y conciertos propios desde el 2017 en diferente paises, es cantautor y musico principalmente. Estudio música lirica y contemporánea por ello usa mucho el mesclar diferentes estilos en su música. You just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. Dimash was the first to sing because the performers were going according to the expectations of the audience, and because no one knew anything about Dimash, not even what he looked like, he went first. Later in another episode, one of the other performers said going behind Dimash was stressful, while another said he was stressed out after hearing Dimash for the first time. In case you were not informed, this was a talent show for Chinese professional singers who already had established careers. Some for 10 years and longer. Dimash was invited as a "dark horse", the youngest ever in the history of the show and the first foreigner to compete. He was only 22 yrs. old and had only competed in competitions in Kazakhstan, where he is from, and countries near there.

It is an old song by a French composer but it was Dimash after many years who put it on the map and in what way. He did the same with Hello by Lionel Ritchy, who raised it to a level that not even being reborn could do himself. although Lionel's version is the original but Dimash made it his own in honor of its composer and with much respect like everything he does besides the humility that comes out of his pores...

U will be rained with comments about Dimash. Of cos the goods one. For me theres no other singer like Dimash. But l prefer SOS Slaviz Bazaar version cos its more emotional. Dimash play 7 instrument and sings in 13 languages. Speaks fluently mother kazakstan and Russian. And getting better in english and chinese. Normally fans would recommend next songs to be sinful passion. Its russian, stranger in englush, ave maria, adagio english, love is like a dream in russian. But my favourites are Daybreak bastau 2017 in chinese language, ikanaide in japanese and olympico in italian. Each Dimash songs will blown u away. This is the big professional singer show in China, the 2017 "I Am Singer" 4 month long competition. Full orchestra plus ethnic. One song per contestant per week. This was him doing the opening song of the opening night. I think he was the first ever non-Chinese (Kazakhstan) singer on the show and essentially still an amateur. It's been 5 years and he never stops training, so he has gotten better. This same song in 2018 has better French pronunciation and a couple tweaks to the arrangement. Then in his 2021 or so digital concert he changes the style a bit. I would call it more of a French style. Some of his best work is on Russian songs, partially because he is fluent and partially because he has some very high quality musicians and composers to collaborate with.

Dimash has a 7 plus octave range. He was preforming on stage a few years back and accidently hit a D8 with slight vibrato and sustained it...off the keyboard. He began his classical vocal and instrument training at age 5 and continued full time until age 25. He was 22 in this video and is now 28. At age 5, he informed his grandmother her piano was out of tune, and she began in earnest taking him to a very Prestigeous music school for children. He is finishing his Doctoral Thesis in music. He is constantly expanding his range and sound. He is from Kazakhstan.

The best comment from a Dear under the first video: „If you are having a bad day, remember, someone had to sing after him.“ 🤣 That one moment when a vblogger first hear Dimash and is instantly mesmerized by it... priceless and beautiful to watch. I love it! The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and in 2017 made Dimash a mega-star overnight. That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to KZbin ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won). ✴ In January 2021 Dimash was one of the few foreigners who has been asked to attend the live online show marking the inauguration of the President of U.S.A. Joe Biden. He is here as a representative of his country Kazakhstan and he is also here for his Dears from all over the world. This is the first time in the 67-year history of the Sister Cities and the first time since relations between the United States and Kazakhstan began (almost 30 years ago) that an artist from Kazakhstan has attended such an event. The song SOS is from a Canadian space opera called Starmania. The original singer died and Dimash sang it in tribute. From what I'm told, the lead character in the song just had his gf died, and he's mourning over her.

Dimash barátja kazah korcsolyabajnok volt, erre a zenére versenyzett, de az autóját elrabló megkéselte a fiú combját, mert elvágta a vastag eret, emiatt percek alatt elvérzett. Az ő tiszteletére énekli Dimash ezt a dalt évről-évre új változatban. Ezt a dalt hallottam Dimashtól először, nekem azóta is ez a változat a kedvencem. A versenyen nagynevű énekesek vehettek részt, és az 500 fős közönség is zeneileg képzett. A közönség döntött arról, hogy ki mehet tovább a következő fordulóba. Dimash ismeretlensége miatt énekelt elsőként a versenyen, de a közönség és a versenyzőtársak várakozása és reakciói azt mutatják, hogy már tudják, hogy mennyire jó. Loved your reaction and attention to detail. Dimash has sung from a very young age publically, his parents & grandparents cud see his connection to everything musical. At age 3 he was asessed by the prestigious music school, and was judged to have perfect pitch. By age 5 he was performing publicly both singing and instrumentals. Has won soo many prestigious competitions again singing and instrumentals. Sings in 15 languages now, plays at least 7 instruments. Range now covers 7 or 8 octaves. Highly qualified in many genres, and is currently studying for his musical Docorate, Declined offer of place in his countries opera house, because he wanted to be free to explore and experiment. He writes lyrics composes music. Igor krutoy, a renowned russian composer came out of retirement to be able to compose for Dimash. This is a singing competition ( roughly 2017/18) by Chinese TV, where only Chinese proffessional and well known artists could take part. And the audience, all involved in music, were the judges who decided who went they each week. Dimash was invited to take part, the only and 1st foreigner to ever do so. It was his 1st time away from home, no English no Chinese ( he was about 20 ish. Each song was allocated weekly n he had a week to learn them, which included having to sing in Chinese and English. He came 2nd, not likely a foreigner cud win a state competition. But for Dimash it was the platform that brought him to the worlds attention because the Chinese loved his gifts, personality, humbleness and hugh talent so much they spread the word about him across the world. That was the win for Dimash. He was 28 this year (2022). So his voice has matured greatly. He is such an example of how we humans should live together in the world. New singers join along the way.The peculiarity of the project is that the cameras in real mode observe your every move, film how you eat, how you behave In 2017, Dimash's competitors were very strong, experienced singers, multiple winners of the "China Music World", "M T V Awards" and others. The winner in each round is selected by 500 spectators aged 20-60 sitting in the hall. Each viewer has the right to vote for three singers. These 500 viewers no longer vote in other rounds. In each turn, the singers receive a total of 1,500 votes. Dimash is University trained in both Classical and Contemporary Music, so he can easily sing Operatic and Pop like in the same song, he has been training everyday since he was 5 years old and still continues to train till this day, that shows the Dedication. Dimash has a 7,1 Octave Vocal Range, yet he doesn't neglect his training. Great reaction, everyone who watched this video and heard Dimash sing for the first time got goosebumps, so don't worry, you're not alone. I think the purity of the notes when sung by Dimash is what stands out a lot. Some people say that he has his own built-in auto-tune in his body! It shows what can be done when you are born with a God-given potential and a love of music and you train for 20+ years. Such beauty in his songs!
