Almost 2 1/2 years ago, a 22 y/o young man from Kazakhstan, sang a French song to a Chinese audience (that had never heard him before)..and the rest is history...11,000,000+ fans around the world...Professionally trained since the age of 5...and you have heard nothing yet....Go to his YT channel...take your pick and be amazed....Dimash sings in almost every genre...and often combines several in one song...Composes, arranges and plays many instruments...

He was only 22 here...2017 Singer. His first appearance. The Chinese had no idea! Lol. Him with his 6 octave range. This was the first time I heard him sing...SOS and fell in love! He as wonderful person as a singer. His other is an opera singer and his dad sings as well. He had perfect pitch at the age of 5! He’s such a performer! Great reaction! Absolutely classically trained. Please continue with Dimash!!! You might continue with the second singer episode with Opera2 in Russian. Lol..then continue on. Every appearance is so different. Awesome reaction! This performance made Dimash an overnight sensation in China and the rest of the world soon caught on. Dimash was chosen as a wildcard for Singer 2017, and since he was unknown at the time, he performed first. The more popular singers sang later. Imagine their surprise once Dimash started singing! You have barely scratched the surface of what he is capable of. I suggest following his performances in order, so you can see how much he has progressed over the last 2 years. It's quite a journey!!!

Of all the Dimash I have watched, from his covers to originals, my favorite places for him, sonically, are his deeper bass/baritones, and when he does a very brassy masked sound. The second is so unique, especially among classically trained singers. That he can do it, and look so relaxed as if he were reading a book, is incredible and humbling.

There's a sad and beautiful story behind this song : It was written and sung by Daniel Balavoine a famous French singer and genuine social activist who tragically died in the late 80's at a very young age. Then it was sung by Gregory Lemarchal during a sing contest show in the mid 2000's and that song had a powerful meaning to him because he was suffering of Cystic fibrosis and knew he wouldn't survive long that disease and the song was about a guy being socialy ankward and not sync with society no matter how much he tried to fit in. Gregory passed away not long after he sang this song and won the final of the show.

Great reaction, thank you. Dimash started training at the age of 5 and holds degree in classical and contemporary singing. He is currently studying for his masters in composition. When his voice 'changed' he didn't lose his soprano voice he just aquired a deep range. He declined an opportunity for a role in an Opera company as he wanted to explore his vocal range. He calls his style neo classic. His whistle register doesn't kick in till E7 and his range is C2 - D8. Looking forward to more Dimash reactions,

Gosh, I LOVE watching vocal coaches listening to Dimash. I have seen them cry, swear in astonishment, put down their headphones and walk out of the room. Your analysis was terrific! The lead guitarist in the rock band made a comment during the competition that, “It’s always stressful to follow Dimash.”

I've most certainly watched the vast, vast majority of this performances reactions. This was a top tier reaction. You were annoyed you had to stop at one point. We all feel that. I'm of the opinion that an uninterrupted playthrough followed by a playthrough with an explanation of techniques is the way to go, for the fans that just want to vicariously enjoy that first listen again. Your appreciation was gratifyingly genuine and your technique commentary was, in my opinion, quite accurate. Most reactors don't notice the crescendo at the end. Subscribed.

Great reaction! I subscribed. Welcome to Dimash -believe it or not, this is just a taste of what he can do. he was 22 when he did this performance, now he's just turned 25. Sings in 9 languages (maybe more), plays multiple instruments. His top note is a sustained D8 whistle. Bottom note A2.
