Just finished watching Belfast. Loved the movie. A picture perfect performances of the cast specially that young newcomer, Jude Hill. Based on the young life of Sir Kenneth Branagh growing up in Belfast. He wrote and directed the film. Five stars.. ❤👌

I didn’t know this was based in the late 60’s wasn’t TV like long passed black and white by then? And the look looks more old fashioned, but what do I know lol And 3:27 is that from the thunderbirds?
@emilymcplugger2 жыл бұрын
@Ambzer Ambzer No. Black and white was very normal. The first World Cup broadcast in colour was 1970. Doctor Who went to colour in 1970 and black and white telly’s (especially portables) were common even up and till the 80’s.
@sarahthompson21162 жыл бұрын
As a kid i had black and white tv in my bedroom I was born in the late 70's

The fact that it was in black and white added to the depressed atmosphere.
@ambzerambzer88002 жыл бұрын
@@emilymcplugger Oh thanks for the info. It's cause i've seen Movies that are really old and in colour which was what i was thinking of, for example the Wizard of Oz was in the end of the 30's, (But I know that was a rare one) I thought Dr. Who was in faded colour? perhaps that was a bit later on in television. I see that even when Colour existed Black and White still did as well. I also know that some things were in colour but many people still had a black and white TV. it's an interested part of history I guess
@tomdichiazza96692 жыл бұрын

Personally I found it a bit cliche...I know people gonna hate me for this but hey..just can't help it,just found it a bit too saccharine and neat and tidy for my liking and for that reason couldn't quite get drawn into and believe the storyline or characters
@williamgardiner20102 жыл бұрын
So you found the fire bombing of Roman Catholic homes, the looting of shops and the paramilitary guys threatens to the family ‘saccharine’? You clearly never lived in Belfast .
@upendasana78572 жыл бұрын
Its a film...we are not talking about the actual events but how they are portrayed in this FILM....and no there is nothing saccharine about what happened in Belfast and the violence which I am well aware of...you are completely twisting and missing my point but anyway...its a strange thing to confuse someones critique of a film with actual events...you clearly are unable to see the difference
@tomdichiazza96692 жыл бұрын
I think the events in the movie are portrayed as they would be seen by a 9 year old boy.
