Why is the Irish Republic flag in your thumbnail for this video? The Union Jack flag on the bottom left side is correct but on the bottom right side should have the Northern Ireland flag not the Republican flag. Do your homework and you will find that the Northern Ireland flag is one of three flags that make up the Union Jack flag and again no Irish Republic flag as that flag is of a different country!!
@JJONNYREPPАй бұрын
@@68LP13 it maybe doesn't matter much in the long run... maybe the poster of the sit was from the republic. and it doesn't much matter.... at all.

@@68LP13 you need to read a book, the union flag is made up of St. George's cross, St Andrew's cross (saltire) and St Patrick's cross (saltire). Your ignorance of a subject you feel the need to publicly comment on is hopefully as embarrassing for you as it is risible for everyone else. You can look up risible when you're learning about your flag 🤣

@wherearewe-yt3 ай бұрын
We love any sort of free entertainment! It is a bit of a challenge to film museums and make them entertaining for an audience, so we typically don't do that often, unless it's a really quirky and weird one (like the clown museum in our Vienna video). Those soda bread fries were the best! But we were VERY confused by that "boxty". Anja couldn't hide her disappointment. It took us a few hours to track down a place that was meant to serve it, and that is what we got.
@seandoherty925Ай бұрын
Holohans at Queens University, near the Botanic Gardens entrance does lovely authentic Boxty with beautiful fillings (I recommend the seafood one.) Boxty is not a well known dish in Belfast or the North East of Ireland. It is much better known in South Ulster counties like Fermanagh and Cavan and in the West, Donegall, and the counties of Connaught. Not well known or common in much of the Republic either. One of the Holohan's restaurant owners has her roots in Connaught.

@@wherearewe-yt I'm actually from the greater Dublin Area, from a County below Dublin, and you're right. Belfast has more character, more culture, more flavour, and more fun than Dublin does. Belfast is a fusion between Irish, and Brittish (Specifically Scottish) cultures. But the history of colonialism, plantation, and violence still lingers deeply in the cities history. Many alive today remember, and were active participants in inciting The Troubles. That being said, the city is trying so hard to make something of itself outside of this history. Belfast is a fun town, full of fun people, with incredible character, and incredible food, and a rich GLOBAL history due to the docks, and the ships that were built and launched there. Irish stew has mutton not lamb
@wherearewe-yt5 ай бұрын
It may have been traditionally made with mutton way back when, but it appears that most restaurants now serve it with lamb. It's still an Irish Stew. What else would you call it?
@george-ev1dq5 ай бұрын
@@wherearewe-yt Irish stew was a poor mans food, mutton was used because it was cheap as it takes a very long time to cook, seasoning came in the form of Dulse (seaweed).Lamb is used nowadays because it cooks quickly and is not so expensive anymore. The long cooking time of the mutton and vegetables broke the vegetables down to almost a paste which is a real Irish stew unlike the one you had which had full potatoes and large chunky vegetables. Traditional lamb stew is made with dumplings not potatoes. Great video, glad you enjoyed your visit to the Wee Norn given the negative press the country usually gets.

In the nicest possible way, you would not be an American visitor if you didn't spend most of your time stuffing your face with food!! Why not - because food is different from one country to another, and one region to another. An Ulter (breakfast) Fry is quite different to an English one - e.g. there are no beans with an Ulster Fry, and apart from sausage, bacon and eggs, everything else is bread in half-a-dozen different forms - potato farls, Wheaten, Soda, Treacle. The breakfast is known locally as a "heart attack on a plate!". I found your tour of the Titanic Experience quite sad; you seemed a tad disappointed that it wasn't quite Disneyland, and thereby hangs the problem. My perception of Americans is not far off from the reality, since the majority of Americans equate everything in life with films, movies, cartoons and Disneyland. The Titanic Experience is essentially a story of tragedy, so why would anyone want to make it a Disney-type experience. On that score at least, Americans do need to mature-up considerably. Belfast has now become a major tourist attraction, rated in the top ten of places to vist; currently there are some 150 cruise ships coming in every year .....including the Disney ship!! (Oh dear, please preserve us from this kind of childish extreme)! Anyway, you seem to have enjoyed your visit, but such a pity that you didn't get to see the beautiful Glens of Antrim, Dunluce, Carrick-a-rede, Giant's Causeway, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, and so many other fascinating places. A day trip is really not much use to anyone to be honest. It's a bit like the mass of tourists going to England and never straying outside London city centre.
@wherearewe-yt6 ай бұрын
Neither of us Americans, actually. I'm Canadian, and Anja is German. Our channel is a travel channel that primarily focuses on food because that is always what does best. We see the numbers, so we know where the highs and lows of every video is. As you can see from the numbers, our Belfast food tour video has well over double the views that this one does! Haha. The museum was mostly disappointing because it was WAY too packed. They oversold tickets for sure. There were times where you could barely even move through the crowd. Even if you wanted to enjoy the museum in the same way you'd enjoy a typical museum, by strolling around leisurely and reading, you couldn't. There was a lot more we wanted to do, but this was a seriously budgeted trip. Next time!

@@wherearewe-yt Thank you for responding - I like it when uploaders respond to their viewers. Yes, Irecognised the Cadian accent - my siste emigrated from Belfast to Canada way back in the 60's, but as I have mentioned to her many times - she's now bloomin' American! Canada - in my view - is just another American State, for your schooling is American, your cars are American, your way of life is American, including your money by a different name. Your shop pricings are based on the USA (tax separate), your culture and your houses. You also drive on the right, so there's very little of the Britishness that founded the country. But the one thing I deplore about the American culture, is the way people eat; they can't use a knife and fork properly, and seem to prefer using a spoon or their fingers for everything.So, sorry to say, Canucks are just Americans by another name - it's difficult to spot the difference! Incorrect Morrow. It’s the flag of Ireland and represents all 32 counties of Ireland. It did before independence for the 26 counties and still represents the 32 counties today. The people in the 6 counties have the individual right to choose whether it represents them or not, but can’t choose for everyone else.
