My mother was reunited with a friend who once saved her life from drowning on this show. They hadn't seen each other since they were kids. Her name was Betty Dungan Allen and I would love to be able to watch that episode.

It ran on NBC in daytime from 1956-61, and had several summer prime time fill in runs...this is the final for the summer of 1958, airing September 10th.

I remember watching IT COULD BE YOU on tv as a little boy in the 1950s. The theme song was a guy playing Who Stole My Heart Away on an organ. It was on in the early afternoons before the regular network feeds, along with things like The Gary Moore Show, Arthur Godfrey, and Queen for a Day. It was long on schmaltz and short of budget.

My brother in law is a twin. There's four sets of twins in his family plus 5 single births - a total of 13 children.

The mom had two sets of twins in ten months and she has a flat stomach. Wow!

I remember Watching It Could Be You when I was a kid. The nice thing about this show was the guests were interesting in themselves, and the show didn't make them do anything stupid to win things.

All sources seem to classify “ICBY” as a game show. I dunno why. “This Is Your Life” is *not* classified as a game show-and frankly the premise is pretty much the same.

Nothing hilarious about it at all. It's actually very moving at times. People really appreciated smaller things then - they weren't spoiled like we are today.
