BELGIAN MALINOIS PROTECTION DOG

YES! That's the same dog in the thumbnail of the video winning a police K-9 competition a few years ago. The event is called "Hardest Hitting Dog!"
I downplay it a bit in the video but this dog is what we call a "Street Beast". Not all police dogs are created equal. This is a real deal police dog with dozens of street bites on real bad guys. Most "protection dogs" are not proven as they've never truly been tested under real life circumstances. In other words, most of them are soft and police dog washouts. Biting a decoy in a puffy bite suit or wearing a thick bite sleeve on the training field is one thing. But once you take the "pads" off, take them with you into a dark alley with gunfire and it's really go time, most dogs will fold under the pressure. Not this dog!

Wow man you are lucky with all your flawed commands that the dog wanted to listen otherwise you would be a bird to a cat. Just want to take a walk around a lawn? Man, you're lucky it was a trained dog or else you just couldn't count your fingers. I am from Belgium and I have known the breed since I was little and I would say be vigilant, they will do the res and the dog is not rusty you just don't speak ducht zit voet blijf hier los are all dutch comands

And do you think the dog knows dutch? It doesn’t matter if the commands are pronounced correctly as long as it’s what the dog is used to, I could tech my dog to recall when I say “pretentious prick”, but I don’t want to think about people trying to appear as experts in som KZbin commentary every time I call my dog. It was clearly pointed out in the video that the dog had worked as a police K9 until he was 7, and the US police officer handler probably didn’t speak a word of dutch, so mispronounced dutch is what he’s used to. It was also clearly pointed out that he hadn’t been working for over 3 years, which of course makes him rusty. The again, the video wasn’t in dutch, so I can see why it might have been confusing.

In europe we DO NOT EVER "sprinkle" a little bit of other breeds. If you mix it up with another breed it is not a malonis anymore. Same with every other breed. Then it is just a "mix". We've got very VERY high strict breed standards - so your statement is a little bit of BS. I've got a female malinois. Working line, mother and uncle are both police dogs, father is a successful protection dog. AND she is, especially for a female, very tall. You can track down clearly 40 years of her ancestors. Every time a dog in the US is a little bit outside the norm, you blame it to "somewhere in Europe". Don't talk like this if you never ever have seen an family tree of this dog. When you have seen it, and it is from Europe, than you recognize that your statement is false. Otherwise the K9 squad from which the dog is from bought it from the black market/trickster with fake papers...

Ok. So your statement is out of line also. And you shouldn't get so offended. Are you the grand master of every dog breeding program across all of europe? Do you represent France, Holland, Germany, Belgium, etc? Explain to me how when we import titled "Malinois" into the states that males can come anywhere between 50lbs to over a 100lbs? That's not any kind of breed standard. Some are super tall, some very short. Some have big block heads like pitbulls, some are super slender, some very muscular. What about the half Malinois half gsds? Are they not good enough for you? I'll explain it to you since you obviously don't understand and you're very narrow sighted. The Belgian Malinois didn't come out of thin air or fall from a tree. It was created by man. Bred from various breeds of other dogs, which were breed from other breeds, and so on well before your 40 pieces of documentation. So in the end all dogs are ultimately mutts of one kind or another! That's my first point. My second point is I don't care what the lineage of your dog is when I'm hunting armed men on the street your pedigree means nothing to me. That piece of paper with your pedigree will not guarantee the dog will perform when it counts. I don't care what the dog looks like or who the parents are. I care if it will handle the business that needs to be handled. If you're an expert on all things Malinois then why come to my channel? What are your thoughts on the dog in this video? Is he up to your pedigree standards? Do you want to see his papers? Don't come to my channel talking like an ass or being rude and expect a kind comment back. Wait till you see my next video where we do a DNA test on an a working line malinois puppy! Let me give you a hint it's DNA is not even close to 100% Malinois... and yet it looks like one, acts like one, and was sold as one. The DNA doesn't lie there was definitely and definitively other breeds "sprinkled" in. And her grandparents/parents came from where do you think? They didn't come from Canada I'll tell you that much 😆

@Marco Bohnet Well, okay, but why get so riled up here on someone else's channel? I'm in Europe as well, and worked with various Malis in various countries, including what is called the "pocket rocket" in the video. Nothing else mixed into them recently, I would assume, and of course great dogs. But honestly, if I was a police handler and had to put my own and my dog's life on the line... I would totally want that "extra umph", such as the added bite power of a Pitbull. I also would not mind a Great Dane's added balance and restraint: Especially as a friend's police service Mali jumped out of a window and to his death on a house search, going into "purebred Mali overdrive", and other handlers were attacked by their own dogs.

KNPV line "Malinois" that are most often imported for police and military are not usually pure Malinois. This is common knowledge.

So what? I mean, what’s the value in being able to say it’s a pure malonis and that it looks perfect to the breed standards unless what you’re interested in is a show dog? A working dog has one purpose and if the ability to fulfill that purpose is improved by mixing it, that’s a good thing. And as stated before in the comments, every single breed is the result of doing exactly this; mixing dogs with the characteristics you want to promote and lacking the ones you want to eliminate. Some mixes have become successful and/or popular enough to be turned into an official breed, but that doesn’t mean there can be further improvements.
