The UH1 and its variants are my favorite helicopters. What a treat to see the single engine military bird in person. I have spent a few hours behind the controls of a B212S performing sling-loads of fuel and diamonds, and can't speak highly enough of the experience.

I believe the army has already retired these birds along with the cobra. The marines still fly the “super cobra” and the “venom” respectively

Were the doors armoured ? Might of saved lot of casulties if were closed during vietnam 🤷‍♂️

No.Only the pilot seats were armored.
