Bell, Book and Candle - Kim Novak casts a spell on James Stewart

My favourite Christmas movie - Kim Novak is mesmerising (Grace Kelly was originally slated for the role). James Stewart admitted he was too old for the role though he and Kim had been terrific together in Vertigo. Jack Lemmon and Hermione Gingold are among the supporting cast - not forgetting Pyewacket the cat! Beautifully photographed by James Wong Howe and subtly under-scored by George Duning. Love it.

Just Kim Novak's smoky voice alone could seduce you, but when you add in witchcraft--Wow. A beautifully shot scene, with the romance and pacing you rarely find in movies today.

Cinematographer James Wong Howe's specialities were the use of light and shadow, and the filming of eyes.

Maybe some of her best work? Much better than Picnic. The world is a lucky place, Kim Novak is still alive.

nah in my country it is called "kena pelet"...but western movies presents beautifully and charming than local movies of my country
