Mears & Stainbank for sure - very similar bels to Billingshurst near me, although tower acoustics are very different as at Billingshurst the bells are hung in the large wooden spire.

So you can listen to church bells and know who cast them?
@francescogreenslade7793 Жыл бұрын
@@markhutchinson1514 Not always but in most cases I can take a fairly accurate guess - many founders have very specific characteristics in the sound of the bells (though this varies on the time at which they were cast), and similar sized bells from the same founders of the same time can sound very similar (such as these and Billingshurst, which gave me a clue as to who they were cast by)

shame you talked over it

I didn't hear that having watched the whole clip. The only talking I heard was the conductor saying "that's all"

Sorry Thomas- I'm think I'm going nutz- I had another video playing in the background- so Sorry!! Loved the ringing- maybe I need a break - Thanks for all :)
@RingerThomas Жыл бұрын
@joe No worries! Usually when the ringing is going on it is bad etiquette to talk when ringing is going on as it can distract the conductor and the ringers!

@@RingerThomas I live in Aussie- and miss the bells. I miss real Churches, real Cathedrals and harvest festivals :)
