I was there a few week ago. This is amazing, something I will never forget. If you are in Sicily, make sure you are in the square in front of the church at noon.

It certainly was a little different...it's the big social event in Messina every day with hundreds (and no doubt in the summer thousands) of people watching in awe!

I am sure they work...but we only watched the big display at Noon so not sure if they ring at other times.
