This is rad. I love the eggplant in the middle. The greens that happened in the incline are awesome. I wouldn’t make this up, while I’m watching this I asked my husband what colors he wanted for a shirt I have tied up for him… “reds… maybe something to tone it down? But not toned down too much. Reds and yellows with something else.”

so glad you talked about the frustration of centering a shirt. i thought it was me. tonight i am doing a v neck tee with side seams.i am about to get up and get another shirt. by the way Steph i become more aware how many ladies prefer vee necks. i would say about 50%. i have women tell me they are so firm about it that they have actually cut them. i buy at least half my shirts for women with vee necks now. am working on funky pattern now. wil post photos in a few days. doing some variations

@@BelladonnaDyesCo I just tied a spiral with Chinese Red, Red Wine, Fuschia Red, Scarlet, and Oxblood Red. I've had these around and not ever used them much but am seeing what they will look like together - fingers crossed lol! I spilt a little black over the top of the ice to tone it down and fill in possible white sections as I don't know how far red will travel.

Now you're cooking with gas! I'd definitely wear that!! Your color combo is bringing the stank to that funky look!!! All good... all good. Glad the eggplant and golden yellow didn't go brown but split out with some blue that turned green with the yellow providing an excellent contrasting complement to the jungle red.

Hi Steph! So I did this one and picked out 3 like colors unfortunately, so I'm retying it up, and gonna just add a color or two. It is a watermelon ish color on almost the entire thing, along with peony and peach I think. So I didn't SA it again. If I retie it up, should I soak it fully submerged in SA solution than ring it out as much as I can and let it sit to completely dry out? Or can I spray with SA and let it dry and go from there? Thank u! Oh also what colors do u think will be okay over those???

Assuming you don’t have any fabric softener in the shirt… pull out a little SA into its own container and soak the shirt for only 20 minutes. The dye will leach out if you over soak it. Toss that SA away. Then re-tie and dye as usual. You’ll need to go with dark dye. So a dark purple or a black or both. Maybe a blue. Something across the color wheel for contrast. OR completely shift gears and tie it up in a geode or a simple spiral and do a black back. I have a re-dye on the list somewhere. Whatever the color the shirt is will be your base… good luck! ❤️🌈

Sorry to keep asking questions but thats how we learn right? Lol on one video u said you use bottles for the powder dye. I started doing that and I cut the tip a little larger but the powder (certain colors) don't wanna come out right should I make the hike bigger? I don't wanna make it where a huge amount comes out at once

Some dyes are sticky. I have a few bottles with big holes. I have a playlist with tie dye tools. I think there is a video talking about the bottles. ❤️🌈

Can you use both soda ash and urea powder for tshirt tie dye please answer

Chris, urea helps dissolve dye during the mixing process and it is a wetting agent for liquid dyeing. You would not use urea during ice dyeing. Also, urea is not 100% necessary. I use it, but I use everything. I have a playlist call Tie Dye Tools How To”s. I recommend you watch those to get familiar with the chemicals. Have fun tie dyeing. ❤️🌈

Quick question do u iron your shirts while they're damp b4 folding? When I'm doing mine theyre full of wrinkles after the spin cycle so how are yours wrinkle free

No, I pull them out of the dryer and toss them into a bin. Then I soak them in soda ash. They are damp and I work the wrinkles out with my hands. After I dye them I iron them before I photograph them. ❤️🌈

Funky is an appropriate word! I am not sure about the streaks from the eggplant and golden yellow. I personally think this would be prettier laid flat instead of incline. The color combination is great. I just don’t like the mixed streaks.

You need to wear a mask when using powder dye, its actually more important than wearing a mask when working with soda ash. You do not want dye powder in your lungs! Be safe!
