I didn't do a big chop my hair grew very fast but it always has. I think genetics, health and current state of your hair plays a role. Each individual needs to be comfortable with themselves and decide when to cut their hair.

For anyone transitioning and watching, yes weekly avocado, aloe, JBCO, coconut milk... Mixed together and you have a strong deep treatment... Try to do everything in the shower it helps it penetrate a lot better. I was natural last year did a big chop my hair grew out fast and i got excited and relaxed it sadly and ended up hating and regretted so much in may, now im trying to transition to natural hair... I shampoo, condition, deep condition, and apply leave, oils for my scalp and on my hair to seal moisture and my stays moist for a entire week, which never happened before i had to moisturize every two days or after the end of the next day it was so dry... But not anymore. My hair has also grown it went from chin length from a cut, now its shoulder length if i could but i pic up i would.

I’ve been dyeing and dyeing my hair for 3 years straight. I have even bleached it almost 4 times. I’m in the middle of transitioning to my natural hair. I dyed it back to my natural color a few months ago. My hair started lightening from the sun because of the bleach under it. I’m waiting for my hair to grow out the bleach or until my hair gets down to my waist. I will cut it then and be ready to start my natural hair again!!

Im natural well transitioning and my whole problem is these damn single strand knots 😭 like i trim often but there’s still more and more and if I’m cutting my hair almost every month what am I retaining ?
@BellaMecia6 жыл бұрын
Hey babe, I wouldn't worry to much about retaining length right now, the length will come once you establish a set routine for your hair, figure out what your hair loves and preventing those annoying knots. I used to hate them so much..lol However, I find that detangling your hair thoroughly during your wash and styling process has helped tremendously with preventing the knots from forming. Also washing your hair while they are in braids and applying the shampoo directly to the scalp and then smoothing it down the length of your hair using the praying hands method. This method just makes your hair more manageable during wash day and keeps your hair tangle free. Adding a strengthening deep conditioner such as Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque into your routine will help improve the strength and elasticity of your hair too. You're on the right track with getting trims, but just try using products that contain natural oils that will keep the hair lubricated and reduce excessive friction and tangling that cause single-strand knots. Once you minimize those knots, you'll be doing hair flips in no time. Hope this helps. I practice all of these methods in my recent wash day routine. Ugh same I have so many single strand knots 😭
@kynaeunique74145 жыл бұрын
I saw some one that said doing twist outs helped them retain length cause your hair can’t twist around itself it’s two strand twisted. So I’d trip the knots off, wash, detangle, condition, and twist and rock some twists for a couple of days. Maybe even through a wig over top of them to give your hair a real break.

does the bottled aloe vera work as well as the plant ?
@BellaMecia6 жыл бұрын
Hey love, I imagine it would work but just make sure you get aloe vera gel or juice products that are 100% pure to receive the maximum benefits from the aloe plant. I've noticed a lot of these aloe vera gels and juices claim to be natural but contain chemicals, artificial colors and other additives that are unhealthy for the hair. In my opinion, since aloe vera leaf is straight from the source it would work best, but I understand that it's not readily available everywhere, so if you use an organic packaged aloe gel or juice, you should be ok. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

Never had a perm but just heat damage since I used to get silk wraps every two weeks. Idk what leave in conditioner to use or deep conditioner. I have type four hair btw.

Do you think when I transition I can wear box braids for a whole year ( but re new the braids every two months) to speed the process up? Bc I have very long relaxed hair & I don’t want to big chop either . My hair is 2 1/2 inches past collar bone so it’ll take 3 years to have all natural hair without big chopping . ( I also don’t want to trim little by little every two months or less)
