Just found this accidently. I'm 69 - why have I not heard this before? It's wonderful.

I just recently stumbled upon John Grant as Apple Music went into random play mode playing the song Pale Green Ghosts. So I got curious and started to search for more John Grant music. Seeing the KEXP live-at-home series with John and his bandmates performing some songs from this record which was awesomely executed got me here. John Grant has made my 2022 so far...I hope to see him in concert one day God willing. He is remarkable. I love his voice, songwriting ability as he writes in a very descriptive and story-like manner that I can really get into, and appreciate his diversity even when it goes out there!!!! Many songs have been very heart-touching and a beautiful aural experience that I am taking in as blissful treasure to my ears and mind! I appreciate the candidness of many stigmatic topics along with a childlike spirit in his lyric writing and I feel this is some healing work being done but also someone truly sharing their soul. Bravo John Grant...bravo!!! I appreciate the words of wisdom generated by years of experience in so many lyrics!!! It may just be me but I feel The Carpenters were definitely a musical influence on John Grant. Sending a virtual hug to the band as they tour if any one of them reads this and sending out mucho amor and take CARE!!!!

Mr Grant is a true, pure original lyricist and songwriter. But there is a song very similar to these. Coincidence of course I would never suggest otherwise. To follow....

Met John many times over the years. I was worried after the last LP Love is Magic as I didn't enjoy it apart from 2 tracks. But he has come back with a stunner with this LP.

Were the two tracks that you liked _Is He Strange_ and _Touch and Go,_ by any chance? Because I can't stop listening to them. _His Mother's Hips_ is pretty amazing too.
