It's nice to see this tradition is still going. Unfortunately, most church bells around here are either rung electronically, or the sound itself is digital.

whenever the tenor -1 place is leading in devon call changes, i always have to think about if the tenor has been called under the tenor -1 bell, or if it leading. great ringing tho. (tenor -1 in this instance would be the 9th)

1:28 why do the devon call change ringer do this like they pull the rope twice then ROUGHLY pulls the rope of the bell (just asking btw)
@victoriatucker11062 жыл бұрын
Hi! That’s the start of the rise - you swing the bell twice to get some momentum, then on the third swing you check the rope to make the clapper make contact with the bell.

Is there any differentiation within the church year, e.g. between ordinary Sundays and Solemnities because in continental bell ringing some vary with the number of bells? Is there an intention to let the listener know if it is Pentecost or a Sunday within Advent tide?
@willrumsey91786 жыл бұрын
Maybe you should ring in Beverley Minster and Selby abbey and Lincoln Cathedral

We did them all in 2012 on a tour. Think the only footage of that tour was York Minster

the change ringing bells it's hard or easy?
@JohnJames-nl8ji6 жыл бұрын
It's not easy, you have to learn the very precise method to ring them, and it's difficult to know when and how fast to ring your bell. The whole thing has to be very precise and coordinated or it sounds terrible.

I suppose in a way it is easy and hard at the same time
