During my nearly 6 years of ringing, I never ever thought I would have the opportunity to ring at Liverpool Cathedral, where it holds the worlds largest peal of change ringing bells.
Being able to ring here has been a crazy thought since 2012 (when I first started ringing and watching bellringing KZbin videos) and I used to put all these thoughts to the back of my head thinking "Its fine, I just need to face the fact that these hopes and dreams come with time and patience. Maybe when I have been ringing for many many more years I might get the chance but there's only about 1% out of everyone else who wants to ring there as well"
I kept this thought with me but also wanted to persevere to really push my ringing ability through the roof to see where it would get me - little did I know that my last Ringing World National Youth Contest would be held in Liverpool and I would get the chance to ring at the Cathedral twice in one weekend.
The Saturday of the competition arrived and I soon found myself walking up the long staircase to the ringing room and feeling the atmosphere and force of 12 of the heaviest bells in the world ringing out. Entering the ringing room was unbelievable due to the sheer number of people and the size of the place.
Long story short, it was my turn to ring so I grabbed hold of the rope of the 2nd bell, pulled off, and a thought came into my head saying, "I'm now ringing at Liverpool Cathedral, my dream has come true!"
I couldn't stop smiling after this...
Please enjoy the video and sorry the comments are sooooo long
