I remember getting really excited with more "group" quests or rare spawns... then they put those wicked buffs for each zone and most of them made needing help moot... oh no... massive rare spawn with 10x my HP and firing rockets at me... let me just drop mortars on top of them and LOL as they get stunned and die..... WTF

+Riptors if you really think that, you are wrong. while leveling is no longer social, the very idea of raiding IS and has been the thing driving players to interact with one another for a while, yes LFR devalues that, but at the core, wow is a social MMORPG, if you think its that bad, go take a look at warframe and then tell me that wow is "a single player game with optional co-op"

+Riptors That is still on the players though. Nothing is stopping people from communicating with others like they did in the past. If the community was so "tight" back then, a mere Dungeon Finder can't tear it appart. It's that people always choose the most convenient way to do something. There are no barriers now, the only barrier is..well...us..

+Gulanis I love warfram have been playing since summer of 2013, but the only time we really communicated was for groups for the keys not so much in match, and me and my friend always played in the same room but that game is definitely a single player MMO

+Kelio Goken idk ive still felt legendary with my ring/cape yea its no staff/daggers etc. but it still feels exciting. I think its a great step in the right direction, would pray for more lore on them. This is coming from a mythic/heroic raider since vanilla

+Naxonus TV Because the cool thing about legendaries always used to be that you'd see someone wearing one in orgrimmar and you went: 'Damn that looks nice!'. You'd want to get them as well because it's such a big achievement, besides that you knew that players with legendaries are good players because they did the raid where it drops. Since mop, some PUGS require you to have a legendary, just absolutely killed their purpose.

+Naxonus TV not everyone had a thunderfury, ateish, warglaives of azzonoth. Wrath and cata had a legendary quest for uld, icc, fl, ds but the rarity was still about the same as it would take many weeks to get them done. It wasnt till mop when everyone had that cape and wod with ring. Thats the reason why legendaries are generally associated with rarity. Because they used to be rare.

Honestly it's not a bad system. It will get people out in the world more, this plus all of the new tricks they are trying may actually work. Also people wouldn't dislike it as much if they weren't "legendary" items. Honestly they should have just made them epics.

+Adam Travers And what is a legendary? For me, a true legendary would be a one per server item. That is a legendary, otherwise is only a harder to obtain "insert color/rarity" item that everyone can obtain with effort.

Not looking forward to this. Some of these items are going to force you down talent builds that synergize with the item rather than picking what is fun or what is best for the situation once again they are putting way to much weight on single pieces of gear because a lot of them are so powerful. This is going to cause people to farm these items constantly and probably get burned out on the game that much faster, also may lead to some guilds and groups having insane requirements and you'll get ostracized if you don't have a legendary piece (or a specific piece for that matter) just like what happened with the cloak and ring.

at their current state they will all seem like that ... no legendary=>no proper raiding guilds will accept you...and at least if they had long grindy quest chains, altough they suck , at least it would feel like you are getting somewhere...not this rng fest that Blizzard stated it s gonna be like

Are you fucking kidding me? So I might as well just farm mobs for the best gear rather than going to mythic or raids. One of the biggest issues in WoD was it was purple/blue welfare. Everyone had them, and there was no aww when you saw someone with one. Even Preach said how fucking stupid this idea was, and I completely agree with him. If they're going to make these cool, why doesn't Blizzard just make these extremely rare raid/dungeon/world boss drops. I am soo disappointed they added this. For someone who said they work at Blizzard for the love of old game WoW, Ian has a really stupid way of showing it.

+Duxitisation B you're not going to be running around in all legendary gear. At the beginning of legion you will only be able to equip one at a time and possibly more as the expac goes on. Most of them are hardly considered "the best gear". My only concern is that some of these will become "manditory" for group stuff further hindering social interactions and things.

+Duxitisation B Nobody cares about your gear, or that you have a purple. Nobody will ever stop to inspect you anymore, that time is gone and that mentality with it for the better. It is already time gated so it will not effect top end Mythic guilds, if you can't make that timer, you are not good enough.

I really like this new change. Starting at Cata, there hasn't been any gear other than tier bonuses that truly change or enhance the class mechanics like some of the old proc weapons and auxiliary gear. There used to be weapons and gear with cool procs, like extra hits, magic damage blasts, etc. Nowadays it's just flat stat boosts for enchants, and like one shitty blue quality proc weapon. I miss old gear like that, and it's great to see legendaries filling that niche now.

Totally with you on that one. I'll add that trinkets shouldn't be flat stats increase +str/sta or whatever. Trinkets should have fun procs or on-use effects.

Heroic deathbringers will, i rember i was the first in the guild to get it.. It was so bad we lost 3 melee because they where so pissed i got it.. One of thos players was a best friends of mine snice highschool.

Agreed; a big part of the appeal of Legendaries is that they *do* something besides a stat boost. Sure, they look damn pretty, but that hardly means anything since we can't Xmog them. Ateish could teleport you to Karazhan (especially nice if you're playing Horde), and the capes in MoP had a nice visual effect and launched attacks (at least for DPS). The rings are nice, with a seperate Bloodlust effect, but everyone raises hell if you use it. Ever. Give us fun personal procs again :) Legion looks to be doing just that. And I approve.

I actually like how these things will change up talents and such. Its an interesting twist to the status quo. One side effect that will suck, guilds requiring these things for raiding. Hell or even pug raids for that matter.

+WoW Vet There's always going to be BiS sets and best talent choices, with the odd talent here or there that is stronger in certain situations. So in the end the only thing this changes for raiders is the amount of time it takes to be BiS, which is a good thing. Also if the legendaries are too rare that not everyone is guaranteed to get them I highly doubt they will be required in anything but the highest level progression guilds.

Yeah I remember a legendary being a thing of honor. like old school hunter , you only saw a few with the bow .or in BC getting owned by rogue with glaives in arena. they where things to marvel at.noe they are not special.

+Ricardo Chavez I think it depends. Legendaries like the BC bow or glaives were drop-chance; not a dedication effort like now. It's still impressive to see, but that's the curse of expansions: old gear becomes obsolete. I just want to transmog old legendaries already.

"dedication, effort" you had to group and gear out 24 other people through Kara, Gruuls Lair, Magtheridon's Lair, Serpentshrine Cavern, The Eye and Battle for Mount Hyjal before you could run with your guild in Black Temple to even get the chance of the drop then you had to worry about the 3-4 other players wanting it too... then your guild falls apart and you have to rebuild the raid group all over again xD(could take months if you couldnt just fill spots with already geared people)

Ok, poor word choice on my part haha. I just meant that from the start, Legendaries like the Glaives or Thoridal were drop-chance. You didn't have to spend months going through progression and stages to get those Legendaries, whereas MoP's Cloak and WoD's Ring take hours upon hours of raiding (not to mention queue times - atrocious), RNG for the quest items, etc. Granted I guess they kind of make up for it by removing the "long-quest-earned" Legendaries from the game, but still. I just want Atiesh. I was far too late for that.

As a person who actually likes Blizzard, and sticks up for them in coversations with other players, I still have to say that this is the dumbest, most broken system they could think up. The WoD system of having your class' mechanics tied to your 4-set and class trinket, meaning that they only work AFTER you've almost completed the raid is, itself, broken. Just ask the Arms warriors how much they like thier rotation without the set bonuses and Archimonde trinket. Now, they are adding a similar mechanical change, but one THAT YOU CAN'T CONTROL. It is ENTIRELY RNG whether or not you get one of these items, which are game-changingly powerful. So much so, that people who work hard to get a higher ilvl with be snubbed in favor of those who get lucky. Moreover, unlike the Twinblades of Azzinoth, these aren't a super rare drop from an end-boss (which requires you to have fought your way through the rest of the raid, earning the loot). Legendaries will be the new AOTC requirement for raiding, only the AOTC is something you EARN. There are so many cool, exciting things coming in Legion. This is not one of them, and will ruin many players experience. Blizzard, please remove this system.

I think it might be worse. Garrisons were flawed, but anyone could do them, they were predictable... basically, they were a chore, not a barrier to entry. This system WILL be a barrier to entry for anyone who is not already part of a raiding guild. And even in raiding guild, people will be forced to farm for Legendaries or lose thier spot to someone who got lucky. Although in 7.0 we will only be able to equip one lgendary item, as the expansion goes on and we are able to equip more, the problem will only get worse. Consider this: it's patch 7.2, and you've spent all your time raiding and working the progression. You have one legendary. Someone else has spent all their time farming, and has three legendaries. Who get brought? I'll give you a hint: it's not you.

Yeah they mean joining pugs without legendaries is complete AIDS, as well trying to join a competent raiding guild if you have taken a break or just picked the game back up is near impossible without months of catch up. I wouldn't mind the legendary ring quest line if it didn't force you to do the facebook game shipyard at the very end of it,

Legendaries are a good thing. They just need to make them very hard to get, or just make them really really rare drops. Have them be broken, it changes things up.

Yeah as much as i'm all about balance etc. It's sometimes nice having an item so bad ass and rare that its broken. Even though i've never gotten one myself, its still badass just seeing someone with them haha

balance is nice (that's gameplay balance, not druid balance), but it isn't really fun. wild broken things can be fun as hell, like the rhyno from ratchet and clank, or the tinkers construct crossbow. let us feel powerful when we get these things. make legendaries feel special, not because they have an orange name or 20-30 more in some stat, but because they make our character special in some way. remember THUNDERFURY, BLESSED BLADE OF THE WINDSEEKER, it had lightning that would jump to multiple enemies, and im pretty sure that it was considered quite powerful back then. let us feel like we are badass, not just some cog in the machine.when i get a legendary, i wanna shit myself. i wanna be like "OH SHIT, LOOK AT THAT HEAL ABILITY! HOLY FUCK! OH MAN, GROUPS ARE GONNA *LOVE* ME FOR THIS!!!" not, "Oh hey, a legendary, oh sweet, an extra hundred int. that would be useful..."

I agree. The argument like "this affects rates at which raids can finish content and get world firsts" is invalid. The same guilds have always cleared content far before anyone else for years, adding a 0.00001% drop rate super awesome amazing item that you can get by pure luck to make your character situationally more powerful than someone without one will not in anyway affect LFR babies with dreams of joining Blood Legion someday and getting world first on something. Let RPGs be RPGs and let crazy luck and amazingly surprising things happen.

I like ones like the time warp one and the ghost wholf one, because there are no worry of balance when you are just questing, they are just nice little things to have. The stronger ones that can be used in a raid should probably get toned down a bit.

Nitin Shekhar Thunderfury and sulfuras had barely any RNG. thunder had 2 items that was RNG, and sulf had 1. Sulf you can start working your way to earn it before it even dropped for you. and thunderfury you only needed 1 before you could start working for it as well. they rest was grind and crafting. In BC yeah they were drops, but they dropped from final bosses. those who could wield them had a chance for it, but it was still RNG. But you know what? WAAAAY more people were exited for that warglaive, eye of sulfuras, the bow, and the bindings, when they dropped, then someone who gets thier 40th scroll or w/e the fuck it is in LFR where you can AFK the whole time.

***** interesting loot =/= legendaries... It can be interesting without being "legendary" That was one of the charms of the older versions of wow where you would get weapons that would shoot fireballs / shadow blasts, extra healing, somthing like that WITHOUT being legendary..

Nitin Shekhar i DO have it and i could even link ALL of my characters with legendaries. because i have thunderfury, sulf, both warglaives, 2 of the bows, shadowmourne, and the panda cloak. Also when you are in your core raiding group. you dont have to beg for a raid spot to get in, and it depends on the GM and assholes if they are reserved or open.. that means 2 things... 1 GET GUD for raiding.. 2 get a good raiding guild that arnt dicks, which i admit is rare, but there are some. but when you are good at your classes job, then you would be fine.

I like them (don't kill me). There are huge power boosts in hearthstone and diablo 3, those are competitive games too and nobody bats an eye about that, because the people on the top will adapt to them. They'll shake the gameplay of our classes and give us some fun optimizing for them. Let's give those legendaries a chance, i think we'll like them at the end

I get you point gameplay wisE BUT they will become mandatory in raiding...wich will lead groups/guilds to farm them endlesly. So how do you feel lil' Rick the guy who just got into the game and has been killing fel boars for like 15 mins then BAM he gets the awesome BiS legendary.... In the mean time Andy who has been playing the game for 10 years farms the legendary every day without luck. BECAUSE thats what its going to be. the RNG element destroys the system.

Ive had realm firsts on my server since MSV and it's REALLY boring filling up a whole fucking armor set where 90% of it is flat stat increases and the only interesting choice you have are trinkets. You can spend weeks grinding the same bosses for + increases to stats just because you're not strong enough. These legendaries are adding more diversity among classes and giving you different choices for different situations. They're going to be utilized in ways to make gameplay INTERESTING. We can't down this boss because we have no AoE! Well damn, time to go back and grind higher stat gear so we can just cheese it with higher damage. Woo! But wait! Anon got that legendary the other day that increases his aoe damage by loads! Hooray it barely pulled us through to down the boss. These legendaries are taking nothing from the game. They're definitely better than the *everyone gets a burst cooldown derp ring* They are ADDING to the game. Why can't people notice when something is better? Also who cares that you're jealous of Rick's rare item. A real raid team congratulate eachother and feel good that your comp has gotten stronger and use it to tackle harder challenges.

Im not too concerned about this. Adds a bit more fun to setting up your build. I really like the ones that add utility/survivability and are more active (such as feign death giving you a heal). Not as crazy about the more passive DPS increase ones. Could cause alot of frustration when you're the one hunter in your guild who just cant get their legendary to drop and your DPS suffers for it.

Just so everyone can see, this is where the legendary items can drop. The confirmed sources are listed on Wowhead: Raid bosses, Dungeon bosses. World bosses, World quest caches, PvP strongboxes and mythic + weekly caches. The unconfirmed sources are: Individual world quests, Daily quests, Storyline/leveling quests, non-boss mobs, rare mobs, treasures, fishing and gathering.

To me, the answer is why did they put these items into the game ? It is not about creating new gameplay. Artifact talent points do that already. Isn't that to feed people and try to make them think they are awesome ? I personnaly think it is. Don't forget that a legendary item today feels awesome because there are really few of these and they are rare. So when u see one, it is exciting. Conclusion, these items will create intense joy on a short term basis. This is exactly what blizzard want, people to be excited on short term. Create the buzz. Those like me that want to spend some times into the game, would prefer long term excitement like killing a final raid boss 3 monthes after the realease of the raid.

Forget the legendaries... Am I the only one who was amazed that the hunter actually pulled arrows from a quiver, as opposed to making them magically each time?

You said you thought these legendary artifact that switches up how a move works would negatively impact raiding. You didnt explain how, so im disregarding your opinion on this matter. Your tone took on a stance of "these will be fun for (casuals) running around (playing with toys) but the serious players shouldnt have these items because .........yeah. You didnt say. I love the idea of this. Honestly you people need to keep an open mind about these kinds of things. WoW is dying because we complain about lack of content and when they try to implement something new, you guys scald them. I feel like these legendaries will give us a reason to keep playing our characters. The want/need of a particular item effect. I understand the whole raid recruiting issue but still, let's keep an open mind. I personally love the direction they are headed with this.

Have all the mages in a raid /leave 10 seconds before a pull. Pop on the Shard of the Exodar, pop time warp, then reinvite to the group (they can put on a more useful legendary if they have it as well). Could make for a pretty serious dps increase on fights where you don't normally pop BL at the pull.

Was looking for the most overpowered legendary item For DK's since thats what i role and found the "Seal of Necrofantasia" : gives your empower rune weapon two charges and decreases its cooldown 20%, which seems very op considering if you are frost or unholy and have the 30% heal from that ability glyph. Space that out as well as you can and you can pretty much never worry about running out of runes with this

This reminds me a lot of the legendary gear you find in diablo 3. The passives were always so good that often times I changed my build/playstyle to accommodate my gear.

That wild growth Druid one is actually more powerful than the tranquility one. On average wild growth ticks about 5 times (dependent on haste) in a 25man raid that's approx 25 free rejuvenations whilst with the tranquility people aren't often below 50% health, and when they are it'll only tick once before they're back up. Maybe during a feast of souls style phase or something, but certainly haven't seen anything like it yet

Personally i welcome these new legendaries, as long as they arent like "you must have them or u cant join raid" bs, thats why i have a decent and nice guild, but apart from that, i think they are wonderful, i like to get the feeling that some where some mob can drop one for me, and i can show my guild and they all be like "GZ"

I'm a raider, and these look really fun. Having your rotation changed by the gear you grab was something I really liked about diablo 3.

I like how they can alter your rotation, and also how they can make soloing world quests and other things so much more interesting / easier. My greatest concern, however, is that these will be insanely hard to balance if they are going to be allowed in raids, mythic+ dungeons, etc. Why? Because if a particular legendary proves to be extremely influential (powerful) for your spec, then that item will become either mandatory or just heavily preferable. It means that if you lack the item, you will be in an iffy position over a player who has it. This means that just because of bad rng, you will lose your spot in a raiding team/guild. Just because of rng, you are being heavily punished and excluded from content. That just isn't fair at all. On the other hand, if they make them inactive in raids / mythic+ dungeons, then there's not much point in acquiring them, unless world quests and other non-instanced content is quite hard. Which it probably won't be. The best option for legendaries to be both rewarding and non-punishing would be to make them all equally strong. Different - but equally strong. That would be really interesting to play with. It would lead to two players of the same class and spec having a bit or a lot different dps rotation or a completely different spell choice as a healer, etc. That would be truly fun and interesting to play with, and it would add a lot of variety to the specs. However, I think that legendaries are insanely hard to balance properly. With so many different legendaries and so many different play-styles they introduce, balancing all the different possible play-styles just seems like a daunting and a hard task to do.

I LOVE this idea. I really like the fact that there is now another a huge area for specialization. As long as the Mythic content is balanced so that it assumes everyone has one of these, I see no reason why this should be a problem. They don't affect PvP and other group and solo content are not worth worrying about. I don't see the objection to this. This is an absolutely brilliant addition to the game. I really hope the elitists that generally do the Beta/Alpha testing don't kill this off in testing.

I want legendaries to be special. I want legendaries to be game changing. I' tired of this gamefying paradigm where everything must be reasonable and balanced. I want there to be Arthur with the one Excalibur. I want there to be Kirito with the one Elucidator. I want a world with unique individuals accomplishing unique feats. I want there to be that one Priest with that one item just because of his incredible luck, and I want there to be few others to ever share the same. I want Blizzard to bring some flavor back to individual characters and to stop making us all interchangeable pegs.

+Reeven that would be awesome but I doubt it will ever happen. To much of the player base bitches and whines about anything and everything. I remember during Vanilla and most of TBC, I knew as a paladin I wasn't going to be anywhere near the top in dps. But what I brought was unique abilities and buffs. I remember raids with 3-4 paladins. Every one would use a different aura so we had them all, then multiple seals and buffs, shields, wards going out. SO what if I wasn't in the top 10 dps wise. I helped with cleansing, debuffing, buffing, dps and healing. Now its all about the numbers.... why is that mage out dpsing me, I should be doing the same dps as them, ignoring that you're buffing players and shielding them, making it easier on the raid and healers. Whereas all the mage could do was dps and cc/interrupt and break curses. Now everybody wants every class to be top dps, There was a time you built your raid with tanks, healers, dps and support personnel. Now its just tanks(doing insane dps), healers and top dpser's, ignore all else. Bring back the variety.....

I have two sides of me both with different opinions on the legendary system. The casual player who logs on and does dailies, dungeons, etc. loves this system because it provides significant upgrades to strive for outside of just raiding. It may even cause you to play your main that you've played for year, different and in ways you never thought of. You may pick a talent you've never thought was worth it. I've never liked it when you essentially have ONE viable way to play a class and I wish there were other systems in place to help this. I know people are saying Legion is turning WoW into Diablo, but in a sense, that could be good. Diablo has numerous systems that alter your character outside of gear, for example, Demon Hunters gain different stat buffs depending on if they're duel-wielding 1H weapons, using a 1H and a quiver, or using a 2H. It's an extremely small stat difference, but still provides some choice in character gameplay (I sound like Preach now). My other point of view comes as an extremely casual raider. I've unfortunately had to give up on raid teams at the beginning of WoD due to a hectic work schedule and uncommon working hours. I've resorted to pugging whenever I feel the raiding itch. The pugging community has gotten worse over the course of time, going from ilvl to requiring X bosses, to legendary requirements, etc. If these legendary items are as good as people claim, there's no doubt in my mind that you'll see pug groups requiring certain items for certain classes. Sure, I can always start my own group, but as someone who hates leading, it's a personal preference that I'd rather join a group than lead a group. I have low expectations for Legion, after the shit we put up with in WoD, as long as Blizzard doesn't royally screw up, I think we'll be fine.

I really disagree with this idea that legendary itens shouldn't work in dungeons and raids. One of the must fun things on D&D and other RPGs is how a new item changes the way you play with your character, like when your paladin finds a Holy Avenger or your mage finds a pendant that let you climb walls for a few minutes. I don't feel encouraged to search and farm new itens just to have a bunch of stats like in the actual system. I really want to see the day that a mage saved the raid group from a wipe because he used a ring that let him polimorph a boss for enough time to the healers ress some people and rebuff, or a warrior finds a dragon scale cloak that gives a high fire damage reduction.

LooQ Maybe the problem is in this "mandatory item". Mythic dungeons and raids can be planned to be done using Order Hall sets and Heroic Dungeon drops, so a legendary drop makes your life easier, but not a mandatory thing to have a good dps or heal.

Not sure if there's methods in place regarding this stuff, but what's to stop a raid from having summoning portals at a boss ready to go, the mages being out of the raid using Timewarp with the legendary getting invited and instantly summoned then pulling the boss and having like 15-20 seconds of a free timewarp, because I guarantee it'll be abused like that in mythic progression, same regarding any similar effects.

For mythic progression if this is possible, it will be done with as many mages as possible. Back in the day competing world first guilds used to have the entire raid level warlocks to 18 and bring all those warlocks to the raid entrance and take the time to soulstone every member before every kill attempt. So the 20 seconds it takes for the mage to timewarp, get invited, summoned & pull the boss is nothing. 2-3 mages having 20-30 seconds of extra Timewarp is a huge deal during DPS check or "patchwerk" fight progressions. If this was around for say Mythic Butcher it would have nearly nullified the fight instead of being the the last boss killed in Highmaul.

Sweet, I always felt these types of items should've been part of WOW's original worldwide release (given WOW released after D2:LoD which had many items that had huge synergy potential with the rest of your gear or talent choices.) It'll inarguably be an ongoing balance challenge for the game, and there's probably an argument that it's lame to be pigeonholed into a spec you don't enjoy as much because your current (randomly dropped) legendaries provide a huge advantage to your playing that spec. That could be addressed by making these stats be way more common (they don't *have* to be on legendaries after all) so that you have a wide breadth of options and you're not forced into a playstyle you dislike.

they hired (or took) the main diablo 3 item designers for this system, so the outcome was hardly suprising. I like the system in general, it works very well in diablo and makes the classes a lot less stale expecially in the early gearing phase. It could work in WoW, too. you just have to see the item as having a legendary effect, rather than being a legendary artifact from the lore. this system could make the gearing a lot less tedious and more interesting because it is not a boring and simple stat increase, though they have to be careful with balancing ofc. personally I'm excited! :)

I have to say, although Blizzard have been creative with their legendary names, effects and looks etc, i don't agree with how many they have. Most expacs have 1-4 legendaries at most, that's because they are LEGENDARY and rare, i think legendaries wont mean anything in Legion because everyone will have them, blizzard don't know what uncommon, rare, epic or legendary even means anymore :(

I had a 795ilvl legandary ring and it boostet my dmg 30% of overall dmg i do on a whole boss fight so it really matters if you are in the late WoDs

so from my standpoint im completely happy with them, now im not a raider but i have been a hardcore raider in the past (wrath) and probably still would be if it wasn't for illness and while i still spend tons of time in wow its at hours that make raiding a pain, so im a solo and non time committed wow player. now i can see why people could have a problem with them but (and its a really big butt we're talking a Theradras size butt) one of two things are going to happen with them 1# there going to be so hard to get (the one you want) that its not going to matter that much or 2# they will be so commonplace that almost everyone is going to get the one they want after a bit of work (im thinking that 2# will be the one blizz is going to go with) now if they go with 2# then what most people i have heard complain about is null and void as if everyone has one then we're back to a level playing field (or as level as its always been) and it kind of fills the same role that we had in WOD where every two levels 1 of 5 skills got a boost to do something a bit better only now its an item that does it.

Mage prepull unless that legendary is changed, will definitely involve leaving the group, tw'ing, then get invited back, to have atleast 2 tw's per fight ^^

Well any form of boost will be welcome for our guild to keep the gearing phase as short as possible outside of raid timer lockouts. Though my opinion hasn't changed much that these items will result in a lot of b-tching around in casual guilds. If they struggle to get through the content they will eventually decide to bring the players with the best performance for the job. This means they will bring the people with the better RNG luck as the performance effects of the different legendary items varies greatly.

I guess my main concern is over the lack of control we have regarding what bonus we get.For instance:What if I get a legendary that does amazing things for Frost Mages, but I only enjoy Fire and Arcane? I also have some characters specifically made for certain things. For instance, I have a Dwarf Enhancement Shaman I use primarily for archaeology. I would love to get something favoring faster movement speed or burst, but I might get something completely contrary to that.

The new pets they're adding has me hyped for BM in Legion. I'm going to miss kill shot, camo, traps and whatnot.. but the pets are worth it. T-T Off topic, Idk if the sets he's using are already in-game or they're being added in Legion, but hot damn the amount of blue I'm seeing makes me happy.

TLDR: dont let the orange color fluff fool you....it LOOKS awesome and powerful and unbalanced - but its more of the same kind of gear stats we've had since vanilla...which is fine with me, it works. New skin, same system. Details below. These legendaries dont improve rotation (in fact they modify priority listing which bad players will be unable to grasp) - bad players w/ legendaries will still be bad players where second to second skill play triumphs a flat proc ALWAYS. I have no issue with this in Raids. And most sensible Raid Leaders already know this - bring the player not the legendary...most ppl know this now. The dps gains are also multiplicatively based on the ability of the player to perform on their class -> can only do 30-60% of your spec's maximium damage? you'll get FAR LESS than even 5-6% improvement in your personal dps since your entire rotation comes into play and not a single ability modified by these legendaries nets as much gain as the sum of all abilities combined. If Templar's Verdict is 20% of your overall dps, then improving it by even a whopping 30% is still just 30% OF 20% = 6% dps gain overall....for a legendary - very UNIMPRESSIVE and therefore not a problem other than being underwhelming. Good players will net more dps but it's essentially the equivalent of lucky crit streaks where some abilities just HAPPEN to hit for 100% more damage repeatedly...the procs are not as big of a deal to normal-heroic raiders (which consist of people unable to perform at 80% of their class' max output) as the raw stats on the legendaries themselves. Even world 1st mythic raiders require their raiders to perform to at least 90% of their class' ability. The REAL powerful ones are the ones that improve the cooldowns because even though cd stacking is being minimized, the larger the raid size, the more cd's you're able to stack...those are the interesting ones w/ the natural drawback of being on a very limited # of uses. Not a problem for normal/heroic raiders who calculate fewer factors but potentially very powerful for mythic raiders who take more into account not sure why i bring this all up other than to provide context for the intricacies of how underwhelming some are in contrast to how powerful others are - i disagree with the bold but ignorant statement that because these are ORANGE it's a bad system...tier sets have been a part of raiding since classic; i think the people are still whiny about the color more than the actual effect on progression/content. With the limited use of only 3 per character its the same as mixing 2 tier sets (or completing 1 full with its multiple bonuses) and then a single legendary equipped....same as it has always been since classic. New skin, same system.

i hate google plus I dont mind grinding to get a legendary but there are hundreds of them and i might get the one i actually want last, probably not but it's possible because rng you could spend 100 hours grinding have dozens of legs and not have a single one that is particularly good for your spec.

I'm excited for RNG world drops (assuming that's kind of how they work). While I don't mind the raid system as it is, it's interesting to see a more Diablo-esque approach. If you're not a hardcore Raider, it's nice to know you can still score some sweet loot. That was always a downside to WoW- if you weren't hardcore PvP/PvE, you missed out on cool/good loot (even if just for xmog). That, and it's hard to go back to a more social scale when the game is so "automated-group" heavy - it can be a living hell trying to find a group for specific content (took me weeks to find Highmaul N/H groups, for example). I like the restrictions though too - lets you pick what works best without getting overpowered and outclassing other players. New concern though: will Legion work more towards group-setting, or branch more into single player RPG-land?

I just hope legendary weapons are customizable (stats and procs)so they are then unique to the players favorite playstyle.

why is it a problem if some things do influence raids? in the end, it's just a dps or healing increase, i seriously doubt that Blizzard hadn't thought of a way to mitigate those bonuses. also, we seem to forget that these legendaries will be obsolete as new patches come in. and they certainly won't replace any set bonuses, i assume sets will be more powerful than thia. one way to mitigate this is to say "ok, when set bonuses are active, legendary bonuses don't work, in a raid environment". this way lower geared players are more viable in raids. so kinda like LON set in D3 which works when you don't have any active set bonuses. i kinda like the idea of being viable even if i'm not fully geared. these days, in WOD, after not playing for 3-4 months i feel useless since my damage is very low.

I would realy like those legendaries in raiding - but i dont think the bonus should be active in raids for the first 3-4 weeks as lucky drops could change the race to world 1-3 and that would be a shame I mean you would get the ilvl increase and with that a powerboost that should be enough for the race With the active legendaries in the beginning of the race they could become mandatory which isnt grat for any type of race Even the pug's could be influenced to not going with players that dont have any legendaries on them (at least at the start of the addon)

Untrue about the mage item involving time warp. If you use that on your own, a partied shaman can then blood lust you a second time in the fight. Helps a LOT in a raid setting.

I think they are bringing way too much from Diablo 3 into the game. Really really hate the legendaries, having to farm out the right one/s to keep my raid spot is going to suck.

Cuz you don't need a legendary to kill a raid boss and blizzard will make sure of that just look at method they killed archimonde and they were the first to do it and they didn't use the ring (just putting this as an expample) and nowadays you don't have the ring you can't get into groups because they think one item makes the player and if that occurs we will go to the forums and blizz will nerf the legendaries

If you can only equip one item, then this is a Destiny style implementation and should provide more gear diversity. I like it.

It appears to me that if you only have access to 1 you could be disadvantaged, say you have the FD 1 while the other hunter is kicking out massive dps with trueshot. if everyone has access to many I can see having to swap builds every encounter, including talents

Did they bring back actual legendaries? If I am not mistaken, the last 2 expansions didn't have actual drop legendaries, they had quest line legendaries that everybody could get (cloak in MoP, ring in WoD).

I would have preferred them to add an additional item tier between epic and legendary, maybe a light purple for example, and simply give them a different name, mystic or enchanted or something. I am only spit balling here, but I would prefer this over calling them legendary, while still keeping legendaries in the game as a rare achievement similar to pre-MOP legendaries.

legendary is an item class, not denotation of rarity. Nitpicking the definition of the word is stupid, I'm more concerned about the impact of them on the game. The 'special snowflake' legendary argument is just silly to care about.

I don't like the fact that abilities work differently depending on what you're doing. Sure it's easier to balance that way, but it just feels off. Class mechanics should be consistent in any situation imo.

I quite like this talent like effects, I just don't know why they can't be talents or part of the artifacts, Blizzard should know people get pissy about legendaries, But I see what they're doing making usually unused spells usable hopefully that means we can get different builds for specs kind of like diablo instead of just a single rotation for each.
