I would love to see a video that walks me and talks me through a full door dash after the fact... so record it in the moment, leave that hard to focus background music out, and talk me slowly through the process of an order coming in - what do you look at, what helps you to decide whether to take the order or not, what are the things you consider? Once you take the order, talk us through the details of how the app works from there. My first order took me forever to figure out how to do everything in a timely manner and I ended up getting tagged as not having delivered it on time, when in fact, I had delivered it at least 5-10 minutes early. Also, where do you put your purse? Some of the areas I deliver to are not the most trustworthy and full of character, integrity, and respect. I worry about my purse when I jump out to run a delivery up to a house. Things I found hard to figure out on my first day dash today: 1. How do I look at the screen and know whether it is worth my time and drive? 2. How do I know what the full amount of miles will be? 3. Once finished, do I drive back toward a hotspot to pick up another delivery or stay where I'm at? 4. Is there a way to tell where I'm being sent ahead of time? (I live in Indiana and it sent me across the border to a rough neighborhood in Illinois today. I grew up in a neighborhood like that and I know what goes on. I was not prepared and should never have been over there.) 5. How do you go into the app and send the customer a text? Are you doing this through the app or through your own text message? 6. I know I'm missing some things. For a type A - Highly sensitive personality and a total introvert (functional introvert but nonetheless...), I was a little overwhelmed with it all. I wish I could have had time to play in a "test" version to really learn my way around the app and figure out how to navigate it but because they don't offer that, I need a video that at least takes the time to show these things - and preferably, a previously recorded dash that has been gone back through and voiced over to explain everything...

When I start my door dash app it literally says not one order in my whole entire state and all states around me , the whole map is grey. I just become a dasher one day and didn’t even get a chance to do one order. Last night there were so many pink areas to do business in now NOTHING. I was looking out of curiosity last night at how to set up an order and I declined about 10 offers, did that cause me to be fired? I sent screenshots to a customer service agent and called them and they said they have never seen anything like it. Also when I try to schedule orders it says cannot load data because not it right format. I could really use the extra income. Can someone please please please help me out?

some customers are really dumb the dropoff message is for driver to find ur house but they put what they want about the food driver only can see that message after pick up the food usually at that time the driver was already in the car and start driving then they saw u require four extra hot sauce there is box below the food selection page that is the place to enter ur requirement about the food

Just a tip: be careful when checking off items before you double check with the restaurant. I checked off an item that was never in the bag, turns out the restaurant didn’t show that item on their end. Come to find out DD was trying to ADD at the last minute! Luckily she never got charged!..it was s mess, but I felt bad because I’m sure the hot dog was for her kid🤦🏽‍♀️

im going to start my first dash shift tomorrow and im pretty nervous and excited. i used to be a manager at a call center for 4 years and they closed the doors with no notice and this was all i could find that would pay pretty fast. i have a family to support and car payment and house payment and insurance and pretty expecsive medications that i can not just not take so this was the best option for me and if i like it i might just comtinue to do it bc i like the idea of being able to make my own hours and if i need a day off for dr appointments or even just a couple hours i dont have to get approval from anyone. thank you for easing my mind and making me feel a little less nervous about getting started.

I started today but my business was Dine and Dash. I started with Buffalo Wild Wings, then Pizza Hut, and finished with Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse. Tomorrow morning I'll start with Bob Evans and see what happens from there. Just remember... You want to go to restaurants where they hire younger staff that are busy looking at their phones than checking on you or places that make you wait in line to pay your bill after you eat. Problem I run into while dashing is that you can check the order and everything may look right on the receipt and from cashier but the restaurant may have substituted something in a wrap or covered platter and unless you physically open the persons food wrapper which is wrong on so many levels you will get a negative review. Plus you never know why you get a bad review.

I don't like the rating system 😔 it makes it hard sometimes because things that aren't your fault will lower your rating. It stinks! I hope that someday they change it or find a way for food mistakes to not affect our score because you are so right that items in closed packages we just have to trust it's right since we can't see it!

Kristina Lynn - I use door dash a lot and every time I go into the app it asks me to rate the restaurant and the delivery. If something is wrong with the food that should be on the restaurant not the dasher. I only ever give less than 5 stars if the driver is more than 10 minutes late without explaining why.
