Hahaha, having been brought on a year ago into the project as a story editor which later extended to a few more roles, I was also stating the same thing you were about Legend of Dragoon, Wild Arms, etc, and yet it still always surprised me how I was asking of Aaron (main dev) had ever played these, but he hadn't! So, I've definitely got some game homework for him later hahaha. Though that'll have to wait as we are hard at work continuing to update the game. But for now, Happy turkey day!

@@Guelitoxtarz That...I'm not sure. we made the game in RPG Maker 2003. We do want to port it to switch first if we find a way to work with such an old thing. But that requires some software called Easy RPG to be made compatible with RPG Maker 2003 first. Before then, we're just focusing on updates to the game.

Ugh! Some of these games need console releases! This game, Secret of Varonis, Alterium Shift, My Familiar. And some are on or will be on switch, but PS is my go to JRPG system. And Threads of Fate is only getting an Xbox console release. I may just have to invest in a Steamdeck.

so many games over the yrs using rpg maker but most are hidden. Literally thousands of games according to reddit who made somewhat of a list. Most brings back memories of olden og rpg. Maybe more vids of games based on the og styles? quest 64, Lufia, Chrono, ff, dw, miu, etc etc.

I love a good little palette cleanser. Haven’t played this one but another one I’d mention is Shadows of Adam which is even shorter at maybe 15 hours, but a real blast

David! This reminds me of wild arms, this looks pretty sick. As an old gamer (almost 45) I might have to pick this up. I beat DQ3 last night and metaphor is 75% done. This was on my steam list, but I got so many games to try to fit into my schedule that idk if I'll have time. I just finished Scarmonde, probably going to start DQ3 shortly. Currently playing v 3.0.5 of FF6 T Edition.

Did you ever cover a game called "Horizons Gate"? The game kind of plays a lot like Uncharted Waters 2 for the SNES. But it's also a hodgepodge of other games as well, it honestly has a touch of Pillars or eternity II. This game made me think of that one, in that it's kind of like something people have been asking for, like an English version of an Uncharted Waters game. KOI just never sent the others here, and you can buy the other games on Steam untranslated. I honestly love UW2, something about how it played out, and let you do your own thing, with a fleet of ships in an anime world. The secret of Atlantis, and Portugal. I'm fanboying pretty hard for that game right now, and I'm not sure if too many people who would play it know about it. Anyway, this game looks retro, fun, and unique using RM2k3? I missed that variant, but if it's anything like the last time I fiddled with XP I learned a little bit of RUBY, and the people who made this one must have used a lot of RUBY to make it work. That's impressive to see the engine being used this way. In any event, however, I'm lousy with games at the moment so I'll likely get this one later. Turn based Jrpg style games seem to be an in thing again, like flipping every Nintendo game over only to find out they all have gold labels, and over half of them are ones I've never played... (Was I the only kid to search obsessively for gold label Nintendo games back in the 90s?) Bliss. P.S. No, that racing game sucked, the gold label felt like a lie. If you know you know, because I forgot the name, but it's the only racing game for the NES that was battery backed, as far as I know.

Ugh at times I do wish I had a gaming PC. On console someday perhaps? 🤞 You mentioned Wild Arms (which I adore!) but to me DQ4 back then was the instigator, with its various chapters and then final chapter's hero that meets everyone back with an all-star party line-up. It blew my mind. It was such innovative storytelling back then!

This game started off real strong but the story kind of felt a bit whacky towards the end, a bit rushed. A lot of glitches on release but none game breaking for me. Overall 7/10

Don’t worry about that. The areas are huge and there are plenty of monsters to go around. They’ll respawn each chapter too

Wait what? You defeat an enemy means they NEVER appear again? So no grinding, as in I cant become OP if I want to? I am forced into a certain amount of exp and level no matter what? If this is true, then no thanks.

There are lots of enemy hoards that consistently respawn. So you’ll have no problem grinding if you actually want to. 💪🏼 Plus-there are optional bosses, or colosseum battles, which also provide EXP in high quantity.

If people (like myself) want something like this, check out Chained Echoes. It's legitimately one of the best RPGs of the past decade. I unfortunately don't play games on PC, but if this ever gets a console release I'll be glad to give it a chance.
