Seems pretty obvious that Jade wasn't the one who came up with the whole idea, but just followed along with Ashley because that's how impressionable teenagers are. Obviously it doesn't justify her actions but she's partially a victim in it if that's the case.
@axthxrn5 жыл бұрын
Well, Jade probably wasn't super crazy about the idea. Usually when someone is crying over what they did, they regret it. Yes, she went through with it and it doesn't make it any better, but she clearly was somewhat forced to do it by Ashley.
@tamarabrianna59995 жыл бұрын
Mirage Art Arcade You can ‘accidentally’ do a lot of things but murder isn’t one. Both girls deserve to rot. At the end of the day, she’s the one that even got Brandy there with every intention of burying her. Jade wouldn’t of jumped off a cliff for Ashley but she sure as hell PLOTTED this murder because SHE was texting someone she shouldn’t have been. They even wrote happily about it after and said they don’t regret it, how are either girls in anyway a victim for intentionally taking someone’s life? This isn’t a ‘young & dumb’ instance what so ever and they really don’t deserve sympathy for their selfishness.

She had to attempt like 7 different methods of killing her and throughout it all, she never lost her nerve and continued trying to murder her. Theres no soul in there.
@Cramblit5 жыл бұрын
At one point you can't just stop. It wasn't about killing her anymore, it was the primal instinct of defending, and protecting yourself. She knew she'd gone to far, she couldn't go back anymore. She had to kill the girl to cover it up so she wouldn't go to prison. If you were ever pushed to that point, and you failed a few times to kill someone, you also would not stop, because that primal instinct would kick in. It's easy sitting on your chair, couch, wherever to judge someones actions entirely (especially if those actions were evil), but at some point you need to understand the entirety of it. Point being, she had no soul from the start to even try it once. Whatever came after has nothing to do with that.

Prison sentences should automatically double when the murder is especially brutal. To stop trying to kill would have gotten an attempted murder charge instead of murder charge.

I guess when you hate men that just naturally extends itself to hating your father as well because after all, he's a man isn't he? Why not blame him? There is a lesson to be learned here. When you have a bad feeling about doing something....DON'T DO IT! After watching all the details of this murder I think execution is the ONLY punishment that is appropriate for these two losers. They lured her there, they beat her to unconsciousness, and then they buried her alive. Why should they be allowed to live? The cold-blooded and detached way that story is told makes my skin crawl and I see NOTHING redeemable about these two monsters. I will let someone else search for the "spark of divinity" in them. They are less than nothing.

The only saving grace for Ashley and Jade in that situation is that Brandy's mom is not deranged. If she could even torture someone like that (you'd think she definitely would be able to, but there are both human and maternal instincts that stop on person from killing another), Mom wouldn't beat her daughter's murderers to within an inch of their life and THEN get even more upset and violent because these near-corpses are losing the strength to fight back. Even if she went truly insane, if 99% of her brain were owned by the Devil himself, the 1% would make sure that she either killed the murderers before burying them or would leave them alive in a place where they'd be found but in such critical conditions that every moment for the rest of their lives would reminder them what they did.

And why they didn't get the death penalty puzzles me. I mean this is clearly death penalty.
@jsmalls95755 жыл бұрын
Giovanni Wedervoort They pled out to avoid it. It spares the victim’s family from a long trial, as well as benefits the county from the cost of a trial. I’m sure Brandi’s mom had to agree to that plea. If she hadn’t, and was dead-set on getting the death penalty, I’m sure there would have been a trial. And, despite all the evidence, a trial runs the slim risk of the girls being acquitted. Better for everyone to have them plead guilty. Although I do agree that they should be put down for this repugnant crime.
@jsmalls95755 жыл бұрын
Also, not that you asked, but I looked up death penalty murder in PA. There are quite a few aggravating circumstances that carry the death penalty, but oddly none really obviously apply. Two that might apply would be torture and maybe death in the act of another felony (kidnapping, maybe). But the other aggravating circumstances don’t apply at all. I don’t know that they even faced the death penalty. But I did read they pled out to avoid a trial.
