Pleasant, feel-good movie. Russell Hopton appeared in many westerns, so it's a nice change of pace to see this affable guy in non-western gear. Thank you!

This is a remarkably good film. Great plot. Excellent dialogue. It's like a giant puzzle, fragmented, but all the pieces fit together. Except one, Mulvaney becomes a boxer out of the blue. "Suspension of disbelief", is important for enjoyment, when watching a film, but the boxer bit was a little hard to suspend. Perhaps the establishing scene for him as boxer was cut out in the editing process. We'll never know. Sound not too good, nor is the print. But this movie is well constructed, thoroughly enjoyable.and should be restored. It is amazing how many good films were made in 1936.

I agree with many of you about the ending being abrupt. Left a lot of questions... what made the cops raid the club? Did they have a warrant? Where did they find the jewels? Whar proof did the cops have? Why would Terry work for a police department that had absolutely no faith in him when he was accused of murder? Nice film though. Thanks for uploading PizzaFlix!!!

The cop boyfriend seemed a bit old for the much younger girl. I thought he was going to turn out to be her dad at first since she said she was meeting her boyfriend elsewhere. Otherwise another good flick. I would have expected her to have a younger guy but I guess in real life people date people of any age. The actress who played the mother was very good.

Russell Hopkin is portraying a 26yr. old. He,s 36 or 37 and looks in his 40,s. I think he must of aged prematurely. He died at 45. Parker was only 24in this movie. Hopkin was a very good actor and even directed some. To bad he died so young😊

@@marbleman52 "Making love" in that era is what you saw in that seen, mainly hugging and kissing. Even though these are western stories-read Zane Grey. There are many examples of someone saying "making love" and it had nothing to do with what we today know it as. Everyone involved stayed fully clothed.
@--enyo--2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if it was still the case in the 1920's, but I know during the regency period 'making love' to someone was making declarations of love. Hence the infamous 'making violent love to her' in the carriage in Jane Austen's 'Emma'. XD

And Terry and Molly talk about his real identity in a cab where the driver can overhear. These people are all stupid.

Seems poorly edited to me; a lot of jerkiness in the scenes, but maybe just poor treatment in the film booths when showing in the theaters. The movie could have been a contract filler or an endeavor where the actor(s) invested in what was hoped to be a quick cash-cow. Nonetheless the comments show some enjoyed it. I personally thought it a poor example of a B movie.
