I think that I’m getting addicted to these movies. They’re clean, clever and always some mystery involved. Besides, Dr Ordway is kind hearted and always willing to help someone and he’s good looking too. I like the inspector too. He always welcomes Ordways help and is not jealous of him.

Coulter Irwin ("Clive") was brought to Hollywood by Warner Brothers along with a half-dozen other potential actors. Sadly, although he had a string of bit parts throughout the 40s and 50s, THE CRIME DOCTOR'S WARNING was the highlight of his career. After his film/tv career fizzled, he became a radio announcer in Southern California and died not too long ago in Las Vegas.

I always admired the ability of the writers to pack so much story in a movie a little over an hour long. That's how you could have a double feature or get out in time to have a drink or something to eat after the movie. I can picture my dad walking out of the Maryland or Colonial Theater and having a burger and Coke at the Snow White Grill with my mother about this time. I wonder if they saw this movie?

These Crime Doctor movies (I have seen 2 of the 10) appear to be real well written scripts and are well acted. I could not figure this until the last few minutes. I suspected it was Miles Mander's character from the beginning because he frequently plays villains but the connection to the murderer just shows up late in the movie. It is too bad that Baxter dies in 51, way to early in life. They could easily done more than 10. And doctors solving murders turned out to be good idea for many TV series.

It is an interesting series for many reasons: the natural and appealing Warner Baxter being the first. There are also segue's of action and conversation (example: "Bobby Burns" exchange) that make these films so interesting. - But this film was truly confusing. Big final question: Why is the kid finally "sane"? Is he? Well, the questions go on and on. Worth a watch though.

Dr. Ordway is such a proper man, and quite stylish, yet the last 5-10 minutes of this movie seemed kind of rushed with the good doctor breaking into an art gallery. I don't know whether or not I am feeble in my old age or these are well written...for a fair bit of the movie I thought Duval was the killer then I thought it was the silhouette artist. But I guess the clue was when Clive Lake thought he saw Duval on the roof the night of the second murder.

iT strikes me as off that they would eat left-over food at a crime scene. I'd almost be willing to bet the cast wasn't going to get a lunch break during filming that day and they grabbed what they could. Speaking of food, in the previous film I had to be amused at Dr. Ordway in a dinner jacket eating a club sandwich with beer at a nightclub. What, no Grey Poupon?
