Thank you very much Ramon. I appreciate the compliments. I like to give some good information before and after proof that a little extra TLC goes a long way. The heating and air industry can be a very complicated field but it can also be Easily solved at times just by a little extra maintenance. Have a good day thank you for enjoying and liking the video have a great day.

@@soloch69 not a bother. I’m right over by Fort Myers on the gulf coast side. I cannot give the company name who I work for. They do not want me to post videos with their name in the background. Why they wanna keep it so secret I don’t know. If anything, it’s free advertising for them. Have a good safe new year

I paint pen a date on All my belts. Say it breaks, slips off, a pulley fails there is a date to when it was new. Good video. Thanks for sharing.. stay safe and be well Brother.

Once in a while I use a paint pen on the belt but for some reason the past few pens that I’ve been picking up I’ve been real sketchy and either dump out the entire pen at once or a trickle LOL. The reason why I label so much stuff and I had labeled everything because of the reasons such as this. I had a local HVAC contractor write on his paperwork after taking a service call on a piece of equipment that I was on. The customer confronted me about it and I said let’s walk out to the Equipment I showed him all the dates on my filters, belt and where I labeled I flush the drain. Let’s just say it caused a lot of tension between my customer and I. Luckily I know what technician this is and I throw them under the bus every chance I get. We don’t need scumbag technicians like that guy it’s one thing if a person misses something but you don’t lie about something just to Get your company work. I found out from a older journeyman that if you use a typical pencil that seems to work better than anything else because that carbon graphite will stay there after rain, sun. Thank you very much for watching and commenting on the video have a great day stay safe as well brother!

@@hvacexplained9341 i place a strip of that white fiber reinforced paper tape on the unit and date what I do and date with a regular pen. Date inspect or replace lube or not...and a comments section. This way I can predict when a belt will crack of fail and replace it before it happens. Ive had belts last 3-5 years.

@@hvac01453 : I use to use labels and write on top of them when I would do maintenance logs. Typically I will write the date on the air filters and write a date on parts if I would replace them. I had a customer who was Not too happy about me writing on their equipment. I was keeping notes written on the air filters only at that place. The pencil trick works very well that carbon holds up very well and all weather conditions verse marker. Belts I typically replace Yearly Since mostly it’s in the contract. I will replace them sooner if I see they are damaged and ready to fail. I also label because I had a real bastard technician that threw me under the bus from another company only to get his company’s foot in the door and I pointed out every single lie he was trying to tell the customer. The customer was pissed at the situation. Believe me every chance I get I throw that guy under the bus. I might even mention his name on KZbin here in the future will see. I just know he’s a horrible Balancer. All I know is we don’t want guys like that in this field making up stuff to help out their company. Have a great day and stay safe.

Trap is only there because the coil pan is on a negative pressure because it is a draw through, it’s called a rotating vane anemometer , should be 1/2 delfelction on belt, Q=VA,
@hvacexplained9341
@hvacexplained9341 3 жыл бұрын
Correct, the only time a trap is not used on there is if the manufacture specifies. Depending upon the piece of equipment sometimes a larger trap must be installed to allow to drain properly. With the belt deflection I really should have pointed out that it can be at your discretion do to different belt sizes and horsepower rating of the motor. There are some low horsepower fan motors where is the belt is too tight it just doesn’t want to start. But there are some high horsepower triple row pulleys that will slip at certain frequency if the belts are not tightened enough. Years ago I remember a belt manufacture recommended installing new pulleys every time a belt is changed. But honestly as long as you have them aligned properly can you periodically adjust and inspect those belts you can actually get some long run time on them. The company Liebert used to give five year warranty on their belts. The Anemometer is a helpful tool, I like to see before and after results. Thank you very much for the input I appreciate it have a great day and stay safe.

@@philllsxga.7737 Liebert Factory belts are by far in my opinion the best in the industry I change them roughly once every five years whether they need it or not. Other belt browns I typically change every year. Sometime sooner especially small horsepower exhaust fans those ones tend to tear up pretty frequently. But I don’t like to take chances on critical equipment such as server racks. But yes that’s definitely a lot of runtime you have their great job. What is your favorite type of Liebert? I’m just wrapping up with some overtime at a hospital right now. Have a good day and stay safe.

@@hvacexplained9341 yes, the factory liebert belt's are the best.. I service 8 year old lieberts with the factory belt's and they run 24/7.. The lieberts before 2011 are the better machines, our newer ones have a lot of evaporator leaks.. I service 9 lieberts where I work.. Have a good day!
