A big salute to the original writer and creator of the song, Richard Berry.

The Sonics' version is definitely "one of the top 5 greatest garage songs of all time", but the original was by Richard Berry back in the 50's. The Sonics, whether doing their own songs or covers, were in fact one of the best bands of all time. Gerry Roslie's screams were the greatest in rock n' roll. Believe it or not, they're getting back together for 2 reunion shows in New York in November.

The Sonics version of this was the riff heard around the world. As a proud, but not very talented garage rock guitarist, this is like Genesis for me

They sing for fun, not because they want to impress. Has anyone seen the interviews to Blues Brothers 2000? Then you'll know it's their hobby, that they sing off camera in their very own private time too.

Listen to the studio version ! Live they"re great, but on the studio cd, they're fucking awesome! Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd are real men, doing real music! And not this modern shit like techno or hip-hop! These are big men doing big music. The Have Love Will Travel Revue. They should do it again! with several other songs. They perform it with much energy for their age and fitness :D A bit with overweight, not much hair, BUT, great singers and actors !!!!! my all time favourites !!!!

This was originally a doo wop track - Richard Berry I think. The Sonics ripped it off...BUT - I think the sonics version is much better than the original. The guys that the did the original also did the original of Louie Louie before the Kingsmen.

Classic song, and why does it have to be a fight? The Black Keys version is sweet too. If you can't appreciate music for it's soul, for the love the artist pours into it, and have to knock real musicians playing real music, then YOU are part of the problem with society today! I miss the days when people actually played music. I'm a musician myself, and think it's funny all the stupid fights that go on on KZbin threads. Can't we all just like a song? I mean get along...
