Thank you for your compliment. - Yes, you can use any food colouring for the “Coloring Dough” (powder, gel, liquid). - You can store the finished dough in a cling wrap in the fridge for the next day. I don’t recommend to store it too long because the moisture will evaporate and make it dry which can create a crack surface. Hope this helps.

Hi, yes you can prepare the dough one day ahead, wrap with a plastic (place in an airtight container) and keep it overnight in the fridge. When you are ready to use them, thaw the dough about 1/2 an hour before moulding. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately there’s no substitute for milk powder in this recipe. By adding milk powder to the dough helps with increasing the flavor and also makes the dough more soft, moist and delicious.

Hi, Pineapple cakes turning mouldy even when stored in an airtight containers is due to the presence of too much moisture. Store pineapple cakes which are cooled to room temperature in an airtight container away from the sunlight for 3-4 days. Keep them refrigerated for up to 1 months. Hope this helps.

Did you use basic dough for this? Make sure that you always cover the dough with a plastic wrap while wrapping and decorating to prevent the dough dry. And to smooth the dough, roll the filled dough between your palms to form a smooth ball. Hope this helps.

Same thing happend to me :(. The basic dough kept cracking even i didnt make it dry. Can you show me which kind of butter and the flour you use?

I used Lurpak butter and regular all purpose flour in this recipe. If the filling not dry enough also can cause difficulties to roll the basic dough smoothly. Because we need to add a little bit of pressure when you roll it. When you cook the pineapple filling, make sure that most of the moisture has evaporated before you add in the butter and glutinous rice flour; so it firm enough when you shape the dough. If you like coconut, you might want to search for ondeh-ondeh tart filling recipe. They usually use grated coconut filling that has been cooked with palm sugar. It’s quite nice. Hope this helps.
