The parent episode is to show that Ben is a good kid, because he actually listens to his parents until finally an actual emergency occurs, and Max was a smart plumber, but you saw many times with kid Ben, he wasn’t exactly the smartest when it came to the kids….but he was trying, there’s a reason they say “Your grandparents are always nicer to your kids than they were with you”…Carl and Frank probably clued together Max had a secret life, but Max never confirmed their suspicions to keep them safe

The thing I actually liked about Simian is he never really came off as a bad guy when we first meet him. Sure a lot of his intensions makes no sense, but he never has that evil smirk moment that most villains show when the heroes aren't watching, that is so common in media, which often spoils the surprise. Which was really great. Also, Ben's transformations are supposed to be instant, the whole sequence is just for the audience.

I get Ben's parents were worried about him, but the fact that he's had a whole summer's worth of experience saving the world, And is still alive should be more than enough reason to trust him. Fun fact: Pretty cool that Ben's parents are now modeled and voiced by the same people that played them in the live action Race Against Time movie

They train elephants as babies by having rope wrapped around their leg. As an adult, even though they're strong enough to snap the rope, they don't believe they can and so never try. I always saw Ben folding to his parents as being similar. Yeah he's a superhero but against his parents that's genuinely not a factor in the thought process. Hence the line 'Vilgax never gave me the mom look.'

Their word matter, and you will either obey, or fight back. But you only fight back because the guardians words have power over you. And you will obey them even if you don't like their order because they have power over you.

The parent episode is really funny but it gets even funnier when you realize that Max's sons not only know that he was a Plumber (with some of his old gear around the house that some of them actually inherited) but that they are half Alien. Also did the writers forget that Frank (Gwen's dad) already found out about Gwen getting her powers and the Omnitrix but still grounded her anyway.

The way I see it, Ben's parents knowing about the high military grade weapons and the existence Max's secret other life makes sense for their reactions to alien stuff out the gate. But because they know enough about it that it's dangerous but not enough about the details to have any justification for their 15 year old son to be out doing this stuff in secret himself. That being said, the immediate change in perspective that always happens in these cartoons is still dumb. They should've wrestled with the "Lives are at stake" thing a bit more so that their character doesn't just become "parent" for most of the episode.

I always kept forgetting the final epiosde of the classic series was non-canon and just an alternate universe, therefore, Ben's parents didn't know until now. At first, I started to hate them. Like I understand they're supposed to be protective of Ben, but he's survived so many things to where his job cannot be ignored, and he did mature a lot. Accepting any punishment so long as he can save someone's life, even every life in the universe. One of the key aspects of the UAF era I love - Ben's more grown as a character.

Yall really need to watch the movies. Idk who's telling you to hold off on them, but thst's gonna screw with your first time experience. Secrets of the Omnitrix is a must-see bcs it goes into the history and functions of the watch, as well as the introduction to Azmuth, Way Big, Eye Guy, and Incarcecon, the return and backstory of Tetrax, and Vilgax's fate post-classic series. Plus some awesome character development for Ben and Gwen. Race Against Time and Alien Swarm are referenced in future episodes w/their respective villains returning, and Nanomech debuting in Alien Swarm. Edit: My mistake, they did see Secrets of the Omnitrix. They should still watch the live action ones. Race Against Time/Eon in particular is important TO UAF, and especially Omniverse

You should have watched the Ben 10 movies. They are important and add a lot of lore to the series. And Echo Echo can transmit its sound waves through telephone devices, it is one of the powers that Ben only used once. Several aliens have powers that Ben only used once.

There's definitely some continuity issues not only between this and the original, but just in the stories of Alien Force. You can find a way to rationalize them, but I doubt the writers were putting in the same effort into coming up with the episode plots, as we do trying to make them all make sense. It's still a fun show, but it makes it hard to hype it up to anyone

Magic that randomly sprouts flowers after a chant or creates a whirlwind after a chant is a touch different then being able to manifest energy constructs. Could be rationalized that as she grew up she just got better control of her Anodite powers and started using her heritage more than what she took from Charm Caster, and Anodite power isn't blocked by suit

First episode: In this series, Ben feel compelled to act the leader role, having the expectation on his shoulder of replacing Max. He isn't gullible, just willing to offer aid and give the benefit of a doubt to a stranger. You guys think he get shafted a lot BECAUSE he is the OP character, and if he doesn't get sidelined or screwed up at the start, the episode would be 5 minutes long. And your comment on "Ben used to be more tactical by using Grey Matter" but are you joking? Most of Ben uses of Grey Matter was accidental, forced upon him by the watch. His entire M.O. as a kid was "It's Four Arms time!" and MANY of the episodes was about him not thinking things through and made it worse. HERE, however, Ben charged in with Chromastone precisely because energy attacks get absorbed and he is immune to them. Second episode: Max may appear like the chill grandfather to Ben and Gwen, but you got to realize he have been cruising around the universe as a space cop for most of his youth, and most likely is an absent father a lot of time as he sneak off to save the universe. His kids resented him because he was the "I don't want my kids to follow my footsteps" kind of dad, and hide everything for their protection. Retired Grandpa Max is a very different beast than the Active Duty Max. You see glimpses of this in the original series too, in the episode where he try to beat the Forever Knights to an artifact inside a temple, he get aggressive, yelled at his grandkids, and act a bit too callous. Or in the episode where he get turned into a teen by the fountain of youth's water, he was way more reckless than his usual self. You can tell Max was more of a "man of action" than a family man. His nurturing side he show to Ben and Gwen is likely a way to make up for his past.

Yes max's sons knew about the gun, they knew he had a secret life, they probably knew about aliens, but that doesn't mean they really knew much else. they know things but are still very ignorant and in the dark about the big picture. max not knowing that his sons knew about some stuff actually makes sense to me cause sometimes the smartest people can be really dumb about more personal matters. and they were probably ok with max taking them on summer vacation because he had been retired for a while at that point and had nothing to do with anything alien until the omnitrix showed up. also I don't think max just left the gun sitting around, kids have a way of seeing things venturing into places that parents don't expect. and just cause it was in the attic doesn't mean he didn't have any safeguards or anything on it. I do agree that the episode could've been written a lot better. the parents being so aggressively against it in the beginning I think was partly a release of bottled up anger about max' secrets, and being upset that they're now reliving the thing they were most upset about growing up with their own son. and I don't think it's too much of a leap for them to brush aside Ben's claims about the world being in danger and stuff like that, cause when was the last time you talked to a fifteen year old? they are the most EXTRA people on the face of the planet. the turn to accepting it was definitely rushed, they probably didn't have enough time, I think this should've been a two parter.

I actually relate to ben a lot in this episode. My mom was ridiculously unreasonable. I always used my phone when my mom didn't allow me to. But I didn't have any friends. My phone and the internet was the only way I could interact with people. And why? Because my mom thought the internet was influencing me. The internet had nothing to do, with me being trans, or athiest. They were conclusions I came to all on my own.

Season 2 episode 7 is one of my least favorite episodes of the Ben 10 series because it's so unrealistic imo. I mean seriously even if you are a really good kid, you'll most likely stop listening to your parents and fearing what punishment they'll give you as soon as you get powers, especially if neither one of them have powers and someone you love and/or care about might be in danger. If I was Ben or Gwen as soon as they tried to punish me I would've said "I'm sorry, but are either of you the one with powers and possibly one of the world's last hopes? No? Then, I'm not listening to you since everything we love and/or care about is at stake and I'm one of the only people that can do something about it. Also it doesn't matter if you put me on punishment because I'm just going to go out to save the world either way, since like I said before everything we love and care about is at stake".

ben never turns into the intelligent alien on purpose in the original, the omnitrix always picked it for him, you literally called his ass out about it, the only times he did was to use the fact that it's small in like episode 2 also chromastone is one of the correct smart choices he can kinda absorb energy and redirect it

Yeah the entire parent seen here is stupid especially because they already had a thing where they acknowledge that Max's kids were part alien and new that they were part alien... And then I believe Max's father saw him change into an alien at the end of the first series... Yes they have kind of reneged on that and made it seem like the town doesn't know even though the bullies literally looked at him and he said I was every one of those aliens every one of them and then later on the bullies somehow don't know that he's an alien or has the powers of multiple aliens.... 😅

So I guess Simion is not going to become a recurrent villain.😬 Also I never liked episodes where the parents find out about their kids having powers and become super strict and antagonistic about it. Like I get being concerned but to me it just feels selfish, like you are stopping them mainly because they kept it a secret from you not to protect them from harm.

I think Alien Force Ben is fairly intelligent so he doesn't need Brainstorm as often as Ben needed Graymatter. He says it more for when he's actually in need of the telekinesis and brains.

I swear cartoon characters are tone deaf when other characters make threatening statements. Not tone-deaf as in the tone of a conversation or insensitive, I mean deaf to the tone of voice of the person they're speaking to that indicates their obvious malicious intent.
