That line makes no grammatical sense. "Fire so cold it burns" means that fire is already cold and it gets to such a cold point that it burns. Except fire doesn't need to be cold in order to burn. Fire burns by being hot! And then when we see it in action, he's breathing fire that FREEZES.

to me, it's bad because it loses one of the echo echos main ability which was cloning itself. it makes sense, if you have a limit that you might want to have a tradeoff for going ultimate, but the loss changes the mechanics of the underlying alien. For example with normal echo echo ben can transform into echo echo, clone and then transform back to ben to have multiple versions of himself. Additionally it's extremely secure since as long as there's atleast one clone of the echo echo it's implied that ben can't die. The ultimate look is sleek but I think it could've worked as a different alien.

@@saiyanscaris6530 it would be most powerful if others tried and failed, but we haven't seen that. he could've picked ultimate way big and defeated ultimate kevin as well. same with other powerful aliens like alien x, but it's just that we didn't see them fighting ultimate kevin. Again, I'm not saying that it's not a powerful alien, but it being the ultimate version of echo echo kinda makes it detached from it. (For example, you can easily tell ultimate humangasaur is evolved from humangasaur. same with big chill, wildmutt, canonbolt, etc. But ultimate echo echo looks nothing like echo echo)

If I were to rewrite Ultimate Alien, I'd make it so there was a plotline of Ben losing control of his aliens everytime he goes Ultimate, adding a risk-reward to the power up, and making it make sense that he don't use it all the time, as it can make him go berserk, or lose himself to the most primitive sides of the altered DNA. These Ultimates are forced evolutions for extreme harsh combat, so there could be Ben going Berserk from PTSD and Traumatic Memories that don't actually exist, perhaps with distortions from his actual life (Such as "War Memories" from his Ultimate Humongossaur that sees his enemies that forced him to evolve as Ben's Old-School Bullies or past enemies like Vilgax taking his loved ones from him, and putting him into a war). I'd also try to include the "Ultimate-Ultimate" concept, since it was confirmed to be canon that the "Ultimate Feature" can be stacked on top of one another, creating a SUPER Ultimate, but it never managed to be utilized in the show. It would pretty much be Ben's equivalent of Bankai, with a much higher mental cost than the original Ultimare. Aliens I'd probably make Ultimates, if I were to be limited to just a few, I'd probably do: Heatblast, XLR8, Cannonbolt, Upgrade, Gray Matter, Wildmutt, Wildvine, Four Arms, Way Big, Ghostfreak, Diamondhead, Chromastone, Goop, Swampfire, RNG, Jetray, Ampfibian, Water Hazard, Shocksqatch, Brainstorm

If I were to rewrite the Ultimatrix I; 1. would make it that Ben can’t switch transformations. If Ben turns into goop he’s stuck as goop and that’s why he needs to go ultimate. That’s why ultimates seem so redundant as Ben can already switch forms if goop can’t beat Vilgax then he can turn into WayBig 2.Another one is that every time he goes Ultimate it’s a different ultimate form for the same alien but in different scenarios. I know it’s super impractical but with how the Ultimatrix is supposed to work limiting the evolution feature to one design is crazy. The are multiple different ways for a species to evolve depending on environment African elephants have larger ears than Indian elephants because they’ve adapted to their environment. That’s what the Ultimatrix should do If goop struggles to fight Vilgax Ben goes ultimate and defeats Vilgax. If goop is stuck in a spinning wheel Ben goes ultimate and is able to escape. Ben goes ultimate both times but because it’s 2 different situations goops evolution is different 3. Limit ultimate forms to 10 mins

It also makes everything too unpredicable and fluid, meaning we can't have iconic Ultimate designs, only a bunch of variants for every and all alien. It kinda cuts the appeal of Ultimate Aliens, that are through their entirely just a "Super Saiyan" version of an Alien.

@ Well it could be to make them more unique. The entire fun of the omnitrix itself is how each alien is useful for their own niche of things, and seeing what Ben is gonna use to fight and deal with what and each situation. The ultimates then get this aspect about an alien and boost it up to eleven. Having ultimate aliens having multiple variants of the same level while trying to keep it all balanced is very hard to do, and you'd have to do for ALL of the alien as well.

Being completely fair. It's usually sold as just a boost to Spiderman's current powers and the alien's actual abilities are not used in full until Eddy gets bonded to it. Remember that in the comic Peter honest to God thought it was just a suit and not an alien. And the second he learned it was alive he got rid of it. I think the only time it gives him new powers is in the video games for gameplay purposes more than anything else.

Hell Ultimate Aggregor and Ultimate Kevin do more for than the actual Ultimate Aliens are supposed to do. You could even have Albedo return and steal the Ultimatrix and make the Ultimates his thing like Omniverse did later. It's just disappointing that a lot of the potential with the Ultimate Aliens was squandered.

I feel like there are 2 big ways to make Ultimates feel more impactful: 1. Add some kind of downside to them. Maybe going Ultimate makes the transformations time out faster, or maybe Ben just has a harder time keeping the more war like instincts of these war bred aliens under control. Hell, maybe going Ultimate repeatedly makes Ben more aggressive even when he isn't transformed like Peter with the symbiote. Introduce some kind of risk or downside so that when Ben does go Ultimate it really does feel like the situation is so dire that he needs to accept the risk in exchange for more power. 2. Replace all the Aliens with their ultimate version wholesale. Instead of making Ultimates be a power up that Ben can turn on mid combat, maybe the Ultimatrix can only transform into the evolved forms and not the originals. At least then we'd get the spectacle of seeing them more often and with more variety. Would almost give off the impression that Ben is going into Ultimate Alien with an entirely new set of aliens that he needs to figure out. Would also solve the issue of most of Ben's aliens never getting Ultimates

As they teased in the series, there should be some kind of risk or at least a limit for ultimate forms, so using them should be a last resort. That way you can explain why we only see a few of them and they could feel more important to the plot, every difficult fight you'd be wondering who is Ben goning to choose next because he could only do one. Then you could have a moment in the finale or something when they're really screwed and he uses two or three in a row without minding the risk because its all or nothing.

Fun fact: The reboot's Omni-kix gimmick is used way better then the ultimates. Almost each episode has an Omni-kix form in it, and all 10 of Ben's aliens have an Omni-kix form

Personally, I think that just means they were thought out better, not necessarily used better. I liked omni-enhanced because it was a result of DNA from another alien affecting the rest of the transformations. On the other hand, omni-kix and omni-naught barely give anything new to the forms except for making them look like robots. Plus they literally weaponize the forms which completely goes against the intended purpose of the Omnitrix.

I have an ideia on my head, were the ultimates and the ultimatrix work in a similar fashion to the black suit on the 90s spiderman cartoon, making Ben more agressive, and creepy, as well as kinda of making him adicted, and that is why he chooses to kill kevin, because he goes crazy fr, fr, and then there is this bittersweet relationship beetwen the two, were they don't really forgive one another, but they are kinda of ok, and a the end of season two or something, we get a two part episodio showing that the reason that was happening was because the ultimates were slowy gainning conscience and trying to scape just cuz they kinda of wanna live their lives, so ben sacrifices himself, the ultimates are kinda of chill, ben and kevin forgive one another and azmuth takes the ultime function away cuz he is fr kinda of pissed of with this role shit, and goes "i warned ya guys, morons."

I thought of an idea for how an ultimate could have been tied into the plot. During the travel of the Forge of Creation, Professor Paradox said that the Forge of Creation can't be seen outside of time. So what if Professor Paradox hinted to Ben that Clockwork had an Ult? Then Ben could transform into Ult Clockwork, allowing the UAF trio to see the Forge of Creation and gain some new powers. Also to add my favourite Ult is Ult Echo Echo.

I think the vest on Ultimate Rath might also be partially inspired by Stone Cold Steve Austin. The rest of his outfit gives wrestler vibes (chunky belt, wristbands, black trunks) and he's already very clearly based on Hulk Hogan considering his catch phrase, and the most iconic wrestler aside from Hogan wears a vest. While most of the Ultimate designs in Ultimate Aliens weren’t the best, I think there’s an in universe reason for that. Crocodiles (and crocodilians as a whole), while evolved, have only gone through minor evolutionary changes. They’re most drastic changes being size (decreasing in size within the past million years) and snout shape. Other than that, they’ve basically stayed relatively the same because their body and behaviors are very effective in helping them survive in their environments. I believe the same is for some of the ultimates, specifically Ultimate Cannonbolt, Wildmutt, Big Chill, and Way Big. Not only do these transformations add little to the original design, but their abilities are just more powerful versions of their..well..powers. Cannonbolt gains a stronger shell and spikes, he’s already a defensive alien so making his shell stronger makes sense, and the spikes help him travel tougher terrain in ball form. Big Chill just gets a more powerful version of his freeze breathe (along with a terrible recolor), Way Big gets way bigger and gains more versatile energy attacks, and Wildmutt becomes slightly bigger and gains spikes on his back and tail( I know base Wildmutt doesn’t have a tail but his species gains one as they get older so I’m counting it as part of the base transformation). Apart from a recolor and some added features to their physique, these Ultimates look and work relatively the same to their base forms, because they’re wasn’t much to improve upon the original aliens in the first place.

Honestly, how they fumbled the Ultimates is still insane to me. Like I know theirs a lot of external factors going on that contributes to their meh appearances, but when you think about it, they are the easiest thing to get right. Beyond coming up with a plot revolving around them, just make them the win condition. Make Ben struggle, things are looking grim, bust out an Ultimate and win with ease showing off the immense power they hold. Then when you have opponents like Vilgax, Ultimate Kevin, and Ultimate Aggregor, Ben fights them with Ultimates and its a tougher time, now showing off the opponents strength. Like "Damn I know Aggregor is a major threat, cause he can take on Ultimate Humongasaur!" I might be over simplifying it or this might seem boring, but damn at least they'd be shown to be strong.

I always really saw Ultimate Alien as just Alien Force but Ben can now goes Ultimate sometimes, the real "Ultimates" were Aggreggor and Kevin, I won't overextent saying what we're all saying, like yeah, have more Ultimates, have them used in more episodes, make them have bigger impact, sure. But what I think would've been cooler in hindsight is expanding on the idea that there's something more to these transformations, leading up to The Ultimate Sacrifice. Maybe make them the more monstrous Omniverse designs from the get-go, could help some like Canonbolt and Big Chill. Expand more on the hints that didn't really get expanded upon, Maybe going Ultimate makes Ben way more aggresive and violent, he could maybe get caught up and lose himself in the transformations, and that's what scares him about going Ultimate, he could end up hurting Gwen or Kevin or someone else without meaning to or knowing, maybe somewhat akin to the Nemetrix on sentient beings but without the permanent damages, tho maybe still takes a mental toll on him, culminating in The Ultimate Sacrifice where it really gets out of hand and then it plays out preety much normally, they realize the Ultimates developed their own sentience, they want out, and then Azmuth fixes up the Ultimate feature, but maybe, I don't want it to be instant, maybe make it something that takes up multiple episodes, like yeah, the Ultimates are free now and are their own people so Ben can no longer go Ultimate(which would be a big deal if it's actually something he used regularly) Meanwhile Azmuth is working on restoring the evolution feature while trying to remove or diminish its side effects, it shouldn't just be something he could do on the spot like that, like I know it's Azmuth, but if he could've always just done that, then why didn't he do it the first time he saw the Ultimatrix in person? Maybe now afterwards Ben gets back the Ultimate forms, but now they don't take as much of a toll on him and he's always fully in control, maybe the increased aggression is still there but not as pronounced nor uncontrollable because idk, I still think it'd be a cool tradeoff for going Ultimate to just fully remove but now they can't overtake him. Point is, make The Ultimate Sacrifice have way more impact, like everything else involving the Ultimates it seems, but especially this episode which seems like should've been a way bigger deal but kinda comes out of nowhere and nothing really changes afterwards it almost feels like a filler episode. And you know what? doing this might make Ben wanting to kill Kevin make more sense and might even make Ultimate Echo Echo scenes even better. Like, make this an Ultimate Echo Echo thing, or to not change that part of the story much, make it the highest point of it. Maybe Ben going Ultimate against Kevin, he starts fighting with killing intent, and from doing it too often, from the mental toll going Ultimate would do to him in combination with the stress of well, Kevin turning evil (again) Ben just starts believing that he needs to kill him as just himself, and then like, especially with Echo Echo, maybe this Ultimate transformation increasing aggression and violent tendencies turns Echo Echo into this cold killing (almost quite literally)machine, willing to and dead-set on killing Keving without remorse in as painful a way as possible, showing the dangers of what going Ultimate could do to someone.

He growns giant and Ultimate Forms can do shi to him Brainstorm can calculate excellent position to roast any Ultimate Alien with Lighting Goop can burn them with his sticky substance, He is super agile even Four Arms could Solo Ultimate Spidermonkey, its not really big deal, Four Arms isnt that weak against that steroid gorilla in one sentence, Ultimate Forms are trash and not that really strong, but Ben thinks Ultimatrix is _"stronger"_

I think the writers realized pretty early that having Ben the hero of the story force his transformation go through forced evolution (Eugenics) was a terrible idea. Plus it’s useless as Ben can switch between alien forms if one alien can’t save the day he can just switch to another The Ultimatrix works better as a villian power which is why they gave it back to Albedo in OV. But then again I can’t credit the writers since they brought back fusion which is just as bad

I think Ultimate Ben 10K should have used exclusively Ultimate versions of his aliens, like HeatBlast, XLR8, ClockWork, DiamondHead, JetRay, and SpiderMonkey. And also Ultimate Ben 10K should actually transform into them, not remain in his human forms.

I really think there ultimates should’ve been more violent. Getting worse and worse with each use. With Ben’s identity now public, the ultimates could legitimately scare people. Plus Ben could keep facing more difficult threats that would require more uses of the evolution function. The moral by the end of UA would be Ben breaking away from his reliance on them and remembering what he’s supposed to be.

When I was younger I thought it was a interesting idea if the ultramatrix couldn't store the new ultimate forms so the more they were used they started to mutate the original DNA and because they were designed for combat exclusively they would make Ben more aggressive similar to Rath. Could have been an interesting idea if you fleshed it out more

Personally, I wish more Ultimates leaned into the idea of getting cyborg enhancements. These forms aren't just meant to be evolutions, but evolutions specifically designed for battle after generations of simulated combat. Seeing more enhancements ike Ultimare Humungosaur's rocket arms would go a long way toward selling the unnatural and morally dubious aspects of these forms, explaining why Azmuth dislikes them so much. The Ominitrix was created as a tool for learning, but the Ultimatrix is a weapon designed for war.
