Fame really is a monster still don’t know how she does it every day for as long as she has, I appreciate the fact that she’s exposing not only the ups but also the downs of her career and let’s not forget she wasn’t born with a silver spoon her mouth she had to work her ass off to get to where she is right now, and they also say the more successful you become the more bitter people become so all those haters (including the ones in this comment section) need to stop being so petty and trying to tear her down by bringing up things such as her failed relationships, her so called “DIVA” attitude, and basically anything negative that the media has ever said about her only projecting their miserable insecure selves on to her. Anyone would be lucky to be successful as her and since they feel like they can’t all they have left to do is hate on her which I think is pathetic. 🙄

I like what you say about her. And it' has been hard for her coming up and she has worked hard to get to where she is now. And being a Puerto Rican girl from the bronx, with an hispanic, latino background as well, it made it that much harder for her to make in show business and in the music business, as well. She had to work twice as hard to be successful to get to where she is at today. And she has dearly paid her dues along the way getting to where the spot she is at today, as well. That's why she is receiving and deserving of all these Icon awards, too.

I have a cute wall placque I got from Hobby Lobby that has a quote from the movie "The Help". It's an Abilene quote that reads, "You is kind. You is smart. You is important." Most people will never tell you the things that are true about yourself that you need to hear, because they have no clue that I need to hear it. Self care is not waiting for someone to affirm you and learning to affirm yourself and remind yourself who you are. Sounds like she has the same problem on a different scale. I won't wait for someone to tell me what others say about me is wrong. When I am mistreated, I cry. But, I choose to find ways to remind myself how much I matter and how wrong mean people are about me. It doesn't always work on bad days. But, choosing to live like I am someone of high value deserving of respect is not something I see as prideful or wrong. I choose to believe that I am not what people say about me when they are mad. I love her as an entertainer..BUT I remember her doing a USO show for the soldiers in Afghanistan after 9/11..There was a big deal being made that she had to have a huge tent as a dressingroom w/ an air conditioning unit and it had to be white, which I get can't have the entertainment all sweaty and sht, but then the show got delayed a day or 2 bc she refused to perform unless she had tons of white flowers for some reason and she had to have m&m's and some special honey...so the coordinators had to figure out a way to deliver by helicopter all these, I believe white roses w/out withering and m&m's w/out melting. I’ve never met Jennifer Lopez before nor attempted to but my cousin met her once a couple of year ago. she was filming Shades of Blue in Astoria (Queens,NY) at my cousin’s job near their parking lot, so her and her co-workers were in the parking lot trying to see what was going on (no one knew JLo was there) and When JLo saw them from afar, she walked toward them to greet them and take pictures , etc. so no bad comments from side lol not like Tom Holland whom my cousin and I saw him in Sunnyside (Queens,NY) when he was filming Homecoming and didn’t greet no one, nothing but no hate from my part probably he thought he was in the hood 😅😂

Her best time in music has definitely gone away. "Cambia El Paso" in 2021 was a magnetic exotic song, but it didn't achieve a universal acclaim as it deserved cause people in general aren't interesting in her music anymore like thay still did in mid-2010s. Her new album "Marry Me" flopped, even though it had some potential hits. Now it's time for JLo to move her movie career to the center and focus on that. She has at least 15 classic hit songs, and after all she smashed the charts in her 30s and 40s. C'mon now! Most artists in their 30s/40s aren't relevant anymore and have their best years long behind them. JLo meanwhile started at this time and was KILLING IT! What an icon. This woman is so iconic in SO MANY WAYS. She was literally the only +40 years old singer who was still relevant and KILLING IT with her hit after hit after hit. I can't understand how people prefer Rihanna, Beyoncè, Ariana or Mariah, I'm sorry...

Here is Jlo's career: She was a mediocre Fly Girl... tragically, Selena died, so it left a HUGE opening, Selena was so big it left an audience which Jlo by default got. She was cast in Selena cuz she fit the character and she delivered an amazing performance,,,,Selena wasn’t known outside the Tex-Mex region of the US and was a new star herself, so Jlo helped save her legacy and promote it to other parts of the US and the world over…many kids who grew up watching the movie thought Jlo was Selena. So you should be thanking her. She was snubbed for the Oscars and many awards because she’s multi-talented and works in many arenas.
