It feels weird knowing that this was the first recorded song on film... 99 years ago...

Destaca en el vídeo la pasión que pone el director en la ejecución de la pieza. ¡Se nota que siente la melodía! Gracias por este magnífico documento audiovisual. Saludos desde España.

Omfg thank you for posting this! I used to rip my hair out trying to find a version of this recording that wasn’t grainy as all hell. You just made my life so much easier bro 🙏🏻

Does anyone know from which year is this?
@Gavin-Rice18949 ай бұрын
1925. Not 1922, not 1927, not anything other than 1925. People have been unsure about the date, but it is actually from 1925.

I if the film can be speed corrected so that it looks more natural movement in real-time (or would that mess the sound up?)@@Gavin-Rice1894

Movement looks ok to me. Based on 1925 date, audio was probably on disc.

@davidcarson4421 No. This was DeForest Phonofilm, aound on film process. Theodore Case did most of the development of the process. After parting ways with DeForest he developed the Movietone sound on film system.

Nice! You can hear a lot more of Oscar Levant than on the old transfer on RedHotJazz.
