Having listened to Daniel's podcast and having read 'Love and Pain', it's pretty clear what the problem is. Dan and Ben can't put their egos aside to have that 'clear the air' chat they're in dire need of for closure's sake, while Chris, who's probably had the toughest slog of the three in the past decade, is simply just wanting peace for everyone's sake.

Absolutely this! I also think they really downplayed the mental issues Daniel had while being the frontman. Watching old interviews is painfully uncomfortable; it’s clear Daniel hated it while the other two barely ever talked.

@Bolter Hey, I wouldn't want to say this more than once, and only because everyone knows how much work my late father Larry has done for Daniel. And loved every minute. So I am just going to say this once. I am tired of what the "other 2 guys" say. YES. as a developing band, they were so surprising. Chris and Ben ran out of money and thought, "Oh, here's a great way to make money again, seeing as we weren't very good musicians in the first place.", whereas Daniel is an EXCEPTIONAL musician. I'm telling everyone first hand amd once only. that is EXACTLY HOW IT HAPPENED.

You're correct in one way. My dad Larry Muhoberac (yes, he was Elvis' pianist/orchestrator/etc too) did orchestration on "Greatest View, Luv Your Life, After All These Years, World Upon Your Shoulders", hired all the orchestra (even when it was Van Dyke Parks (also legend) arrangement), but DANIEL is the only true musician here. The two other guys are good, don't get me wrong. It's just that Daniel is just so far ahead of EVERYONE, it could be ANY 2 other guys, as there isn't any character there.

In a 1999 interview, Daniel talked about how loyal Silverchair fans were. This was true. I think Silverchair had more fan-made sites than any other band. Daniel is a musical phenomenon, but that loyalty was based on all three guys. Remember, Silverchair came out at the dawn of the internet. That meant fans had access to all their interviews, you could "binge" on Silverchair publicity. Agan and again, we could see they were good people, they were really funny together. I remember Ben teasing Daniel that his lyrics were weird and nobody knew what he was talking about, and Daniel loved the teasing. That's where my loyalty came from. In addition to the unique and wonderful music. Also, as a bass player, I know it's easy to take the drums for granted, because you tend to "feel" the drums in the mix without focusing on what the drummer is doing. But that's like taking the electricity for granted that's running your devices or the gas that's running your car. The drummer is the energy that drives the sound and the drummer fills out the sound. You can't drink tea with just a teabag, you need water, and the drum track is the water. Every great rock band has a monster drummer, absolutely necessarily.

Its so frustrating that one person literally has to scream 😱 again and again that an experience by large, traumatised then and took their childhood. Its hard to make people understand what heightened anxiety and Disociative Disorder feels like if uou have not been there. You dont wanna revisit it. Its stomach churning, nauseating, clostrophobic, inward seeking imtroversion of yourself. You sont want to see people or be seen, performing makes you feel physically sick, whole body reaction. So let it be. Dans wished Ben happy birthday recently on Instagram. Others on the thread are saying Dan wasnt sent the book, he asked for it. None of us need Silverchair to reform. Im grateful for the music. Why always more when is enough? Great to listen to these guys they are all, true Auzzy blokes who are doing well enough and we just need to let them live and respect the gift of music that came from Dan & the guys! 🎉🐸 Ribbit, signing off, Signor Frog x x x

Daniel has always pushed in the direction he is right now... took many years, and a lot of convincing for his band members to be a part of it. If you have experience in the music industry DIRECTLY dealing with the heads of record companies, you'd know. He's finally doing what he WANTS to do, and from there, has the freedom to do even more. Has anyone else here heard the remake of "FREAK" he released on here? It's BRUTAL! and awesome, too. Different drummer and bassist. Don't get me wrong. I love Chris and Ben, theyre VERY talented people. It is a SCHISM of sorts, everyone went their different ways. I think EVERYONE should let them do that.

As a brazilian fan, I started a band with 15 only because of these guys - they also helped me to enjoy all sorts of music styles through their albums. I have so much respect for all of them, but I side with Ben and Chris in this matter since the breakup. It's a bit unfair from Daniel trying to "blame them" for his issues - they were all kids, no one knew how to deal with that shit in 90s/early 2000s, we couldn't even realize something was wrong back then, most of us didn't know these mental issues even existed. Although Daniel has his demons (and I wish all the best for him), at the same time he seems to only look out for himself - he treats the guys like they were nothing but obstacles in his "magnificent career".
@carlalaudicinaLFC
@carlalaudicinaLFC Жыл бұрын
From what I've interpreted, some people accused Dan of using his mental health and anorexia as means to promote his solo career. And that's not cool to say, especially if Dan wanted to reach listeners that experienced the same. Dan had an especially daunting position as frontman, and so did Ben and Chris in all their glory days of Silverchair. Dan is a very eloquent and brutally honest dude, but he is very gentle. It's not a good idea to doubt a brilliant mind. And it's also not fair.

Daniel is a musical powerhouse, there is no denying that. I think his best work was in the late part of Silverchair and The Dissociatives. I don’t blame Daniel for ending is as he was clearly deeply affected by the childhood fame. The focus was never on Ben or Chris and I guess that’s why they’ve been able to stay more “ normal” or grounded . But I can see how both would be disappointed by the band ending when they’re 33. They could have toured for the next 20,30 years so they’ve left millions on the table for their families. Other bands from the era are still going nearing 60. @@amremorse check Faultine bass if you think Joannou was bad. Clearly you like to suck dick on stars, when the reality of things is bands are the ones who.made the sound of an album. Sessionist are that. Hired guns.

that could have just been timing and his getting into other drugs and changes in life though. dave grohl is a unique talent in himself. ben and chris arent quite on par with dave kurt or daniel, they are in a class of their own, but daniel is actually the best of all of those examples.@@astorgaluthier still, there could be something to the combination of the three being something special, regardless of the other two members not quite being amazing musicians, but not bad either. So hopefully you understand what im saying. no hate coming from me. i see it as nuanced and multifaceted but thats just how i see things
