Nothing like drama to sell a book, love it. We haven't witnessed Ben & Chris pull off a album without Daniel. Maybe that speaks volumes to Daniels incredible input in Silverchair.

That was the one thing I couldn’t reconcile last year while listening to Daniel’s podcasts and the 3 part KZbin thing he made. He kept talking about the Silverchair legacy and how that was so important. But still refuses the Hall of Fame induction? The actions don’t match the words.

I fell in love with silverchair back in 95. I saw them on mtv opening for rhcp. I join the llama appreciation society❤. Im from the US and to receiving air mail from Australia, from my favorite group, it felt magical. Every time they released an album i was like 'whoa, this is different'. Each album lives in my heart but i guess neon ballroom and diorama makes me feel ♥️🎆🎉🌠✈🌧🌌🌹all at once. As to each individual of the group i love them. Im proud of them. I love Daniel's music especially Talk and the ep before that. I like ben's drum videos and it was awesome to hear from ben and chris in the documentary. Im really glad chris decided to be part of the doc. I wish each one happiness and success and life. I only would want more if its right for all of them.

Daniel is an artist and musician in it’s truest form. He wanted to explore other music and ways of expression. The fact that he was treated as a cash cow didn’t help anything. He was expected to continue producing the goods regardless of his Anorexia, Arthritis and Mental Health battles, because at the end of the day, people wanted to continue being paid.

Listen - these are two grown men who have every right to tell their story!! This is their experience not any of ours! Let them tell their story - I love Dan but they were not included in the silverchair Spotify podcast series, or DJ’s podcast, nor the 3 part KZbin mini series he did last year!!! That’s a lot of SC content with just Dan… there’s 2/3 of the band who are also humans with every right to tell their story. I support them completely. Y’all stop with this drama and instead support our boys. We are lucky they are all still with usX ❤

Let’s be real, Daniel wanted to read the book to make sure no REAL truths about him got out. They were rockstars FFS. You know shit happened. I don’t blame him really, had most of my 90’s been publicly displayed I’d be horridly ashamed at this point in life haha…

Truth right here. Daniel is very sensitive about his public image. He routinely denies any responsibility for unflattering character unless it’s caught on camera. Interestingly though, he loves to assassinate others’ character in highly public venues. No way he would’ve approved this book if he read it. He wanted to find an excuse to ban it (“they talk about my health issues”).

Ben and Chris can't tell the whole truth because they could be sued, but if you read between the lines (ABC documentary and book) the truth of his behavior is exposed. He is not the saint his fans want to see.

Great video. I’ve been in a Silverchair (re) research bubble lately. I saw the documentary in its entirety and was it was eye opening. What you said re ‘closure’ really said it all. Look forward to more SC vids and hopefully other content about Aussie bands (karnivool, hands like houses, dead letter circus, etc) 🤘😁

Why should Ben and Chris give Daniel a copy of the book, because before the book came out Daniel was promoting his album FutureNever and also his exhibition gallery, and was asked in an aired TV interview if he wanted a relationship with Ben and Chris? Daniel didn't pull no punches with his answer because he said he wanted NOTHING to do with either of them at this moment in time, apparently they don't show him the respect he deserves! I'm sorry, but if someone went on a TV show and said that about me, I wouldn't give them a copy of the book either. He can't have it both ways, and besides, Ben and Chris have been pretty silent over the years and haven't said much at all regarding the split of Silverchair. I think Dan's problem is that he's so unstable, he thinks everyone should bow down to him and his demands, and when people dont, he throws a hissy fit! One question people don't seem to be asking is where the hell was Daniel whilst Chris was laying in hospital dying of Cancer? The way the documentary is laid out, it makes it seem that Daniel even ignored Chris' cancer. So I ask anyone, if you can stoop that low and not put your past behind you for someone dying of Cancer, there's no hope of ever expecting this fiasco to end well. I was once a massive Daniel Johns fan, you've only gotta look through my videos on my page to see that. Seeing what I'm seeing now, I have massive doubts about the person Dan has turned into! Also, this is a question for the video uploader Solitude - if Daniel couldn't get permission to use Silverchair music on his Spotify podcast, how could he possibly stop Ben and Chris using it within their documentary? He obviously has no control over it because if he did, he'd have used it on his podcast?

Quick aside: I don’t think what Johns went through could be called “teasing”. He legit got his ass beat. The most tragic part of the whole thing - the complete disintegration of those relationships that spanned decades. Ppl do change and not many of us have friends into adulthood that we had when we were kids, but their’s are a specific set of circumstances.

This is old information but Daniel Johns is a talented musician. He can play all instrumental pieces. He don't need benefits or Chris. Life goes on. Get over it. They put Daniel through the mud when he was a teenager. Tuna in the brine is Daniel's story a masterpiece alone.

Na it’s always more complex than that. Ben had his issues too. Ben was a total dickhead according to himself when he was on the piss (booze) and nearly lost Chris as a friend too. Ben has had a meat and potatoes public persona, but as you can see in the documentary he’s not as simple as he might have seemed. Chris seemed to hold himself back a lot when expressing himself and probably held back what he wanted to say a lot, so it doesn’t surprise me that much that he had cancer and a heart attack.
