I love the dynamic of Ben and Cheryl. He is clearly passionate and exploring new and deeply meaningful ways to express himself musically and verbally and I appreciate that her style of interviewing gave him the room to be a little unrestrained, emotional and express a child-like wonder and curiosity throughout the conversation here. It was a joy to listen to the music and the conversation.

Watch all the way to the end. I'm here again in 2024 after some heavy losses. Some of these songs are reaching me in a whole new way. ❤ I am so glad it came up again. This interview is honest and so vulnerable. All these songs are incredible. I'm going to liaten to this album again. So good! After The Storm 10:50 (ish)

Such a raw interview. Ben Harper is consciously awake while remaining super humble and throws down some absolute truth. I'm so happy I happen to come across this powerful piece today. Thank you for the inspiration Ben.

What a gift those sessions are. Cheryl Waters genuine interest for music steers us into profound authentic experience every single time. I am definitely part of the group of people Ben Harper was mentionning would cut a toe off to have the opportunity to sit in his chair right there. In the meantime, I'll just keep watching and listening.

Ben's such a great guy. I remember seeing him at one of those first Bonnaroos where he was a performer and he knocked it out of the park, and then later when Neil Young played, you could see him on the side of the stage sitting on a big amp case just loving every minute of it, being a fan just like the rest of us. You can't help but love him.

Hi Joe, you are so right! I just stumbled on this today and WOW how relevant. Maybe the song "Call It What It Is" is even more needed today than it was 4 years ago if I can even say that. Anytime a person is killed because of skin color this song is relevant. So glad artists are continuing to keep the conversation going and I truly hope that everything that is going on in our world today finally makes different. That is my prayer!

He is amazing. Terrific acoustic set. He's very honest and doesn't care to give typical, neutral, boring answers. The lady is also helping him a lot and that's very very cool - in contrast to a few other KEXP producers who stick to the very basics with the invited artists, who in turn sound fantastic but as a result also give boring answers. I briefly went through the comments but didn't see any compliments for the FANTASTIC audio quality... the space and the whole equipment setup sounds great. I would love to know about it, especially the mikes.
