The only places on a rail line that take time to replace are bridges and tunnels. Locomotives are good targets too but are easily removed when damaged. A rail road is dirt with layer of rock ballast and sleepers floating on top with rails attached. Rail segments and points can be replaced rapidly unfortunately so ideal is hitting fuel or ammo train on bridge or in tunnel. Like Ukraine did on kerch bridge. That damage has not been repaired and can't be so only light trains can use the bridge. It's difficult to get saboteurs that far into Muscovy though Ukraine did it once in far east.

A long train ride to nowhere. Imagine being a DPRK grunt on that train. You'd be like a death-row convict on his last day, but I doubt there's any big last meal. And instead of watching a clock tick away your last seconds, you watch the landscape go by from a window knowing you're approaching Ukraine...

South Korea has been doing this for quite awhile -- the NK's retaliated by sending balloons &/or drones carrying bags of feces to the SK side of the border. However, either the 'irritation campaign' has struck a nerve by actually inducing someone IMPORTANT to bolt for the nearest border that will get them out of reach of Kim's assassination squads, or the overgrown & overfed brat is just feeling like he's not getting enough attention while Israel/Iran & Ukraine/Russia are getting all the media spotlights. The generals need to up his meds and lock him in with his slave harem (sorry, girls, would pull a James Bond and get you out, but I'm just an aging USN vet who on good days feels like I'm 36, and on bad days feels alot older than I really am). So, now the NKs have gone completely batsh*t, destroyed roads to/across the border, destroyed all lights on their side of the border... and recently put it in whatever passes as their BS 'constitution' (ironic, for a multi-generation dictatorship) that SK is a 'declared enemy' (like somehow nobody KNEW that). ADD in more nuclear missile-rattling by the 'babydoc' rp'er and hisses and threats from his backstairs sister, and they're getting very freaky.

It maybe pointless to people in the West but for Russia it makes perfect sense. It destabilizes NATO, puts part of Ukrainian territory under Russian control. Politically western support for Ukraine is too little too late. Russia has scared the west enough to keep NATO troops out of Ukraine and stops Ukraine from using Western long range weapons on Russian territory.

The US has mostly been giving Ukraine old equipment much manufactured in the 80s and 90s that needed replacing and then buying new inventory. The new inventory is mainly from US based manufacturers and has been stimulating the US economy. The old inventory would have cost money to decommission, saving the US a lot of money. The destruction of the Russian military has come at a very low price for the US and NATO. While the US has contributed a lot militarily, the Europeans have given more in humanitarian and other aid. Ukraine has paid a very high price.

How many of those does the US have just parked in a desert somewhere? This reason is perhaps the main reason why support is dwindling in America. Ukraine's youngest soldiers are 25 and they still refuse to lower it to 18, recall their citizens, or hold a draft. How are Americans supposed to support them if they won't support themselves. That's what it's starting to look like to us.

@@RustyShackleford-s2o Then Americans should possibly consider why Zelensky is doing this. He is thinking not just of the the present but of the future too. Zelensky, this year dropped the age from 27 to 24 for draft purposes. He wants his young people to have experienced something of living before they run the risk of dying, he wants them to complete their education so Ukraine has an educated generation to look forward to running their country if and when this horror finishes. He wants youngsters to meet, marry and breed another generation before getting killed or maimed fighting for today. He knows a nation is not just a balance sheet or a GDP but the sum product of his people and wants to ensure there is a generation to grow and emerge to ensure Ukraine can fight its way to what we in the west just take for granted - our freedoms! What is so difficult to understand or appreciate about a leader who has one eye to the future wellbeing of his country and not just the next election cycle or tax year? Whilts Tsar Putrid is busy trying to get as many of his young men killed or maimed as possible, Zelensky is doing exactly the opposite.

General Hodges didn’t forget. Trump amplified the “2% defense level”, which was never a requirement. He identified that the EU could do more, but, for all its stature, NATO does not actually have a standing military. Each country has their own. It’s a defensive alliance. Each country had a choice of how much to obligate, including the US. Our lawmakers chose to meet the obligation, but no one was twisting their arms to do so. And currently? The EU surpasses the US in overall aid to Ukraine (military and humanitarian).

Since N Korea is currently starving by the thousands the decision to send troops serves multi purposes. Their military gets fed first so sending thousands to Russia eases the food shortage and they don't care about loses. Their troops have zero combat experience so survivors will enhance their capabilities.

North Korea doesn’t want to fuck with the USA or South Korea. The US needs to form An Alliance similar to NATO in the Indo Pacific region. The US, South Korea, Japan, The Phillipines, Australia, New Zealand would all be members. And Malaysia and Indonesia if they wanted to. Or we should expand the NATO alliance to these countries as well. Especially Japan, South Korea, Australia.
