Absolutely fantastic! I've watched and read so so much on this game and have determined everything Mr. Hogan wrote on the subject in I think 1959 is as good as it gets. Don't get me wrong there is so much great stuff out there, but Hogan really nailed the subject perfectly. And this humble little video focuses on the most important aspect of what he described. Well done! Completely due this fundamental motion i went from decades of decent ball striking to near perfect effortless ball striking.

Yay, someone who knows why this is so important... Go an look at all the best ball strikers, they all in this position before impact. Look at Daly, huge natural talent, does this. This will even make your short game a million times better, when you start using your hands more to control the shot. A surgeon does not use his body, he uses his hands..

@beachwelcome 0 seconds ago I like the twisting of the hands but as I change clubs I do not understand untwisting, When I look at Hogan's waggle and swing I see Supination and Pronation but I do not understand the timing especially when changing from one club to another.

This really helps getting my left wrist at impact cupped the right way. I’ve been trying to do it thinking about the left but at this point in the swing it’s all about the right side creating power so any thought about the left destroys that process
@Thesecretofhogansswing3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The left is the guiding factor and the right is the power factor.

This is more like my swing and not what the others teach. It works for me
@janicekogut28557 жыл бұрын
everyone says my swing is very open on the back swing, but it works
@ag3583 жыл бұрын
@@janicekogut2855 there are two basic swings, years ago bobby jones called them shut face and open face swings, the difference at impact is nothing, at impact they are square . On your swing the club must close on the way down, on the shut face the club opens and holds square through impact. He liked the open method which is what he employed but both are effective. It's what your body learns the easiest and more important more consistent.

Very good also you hear this in baseball but in opposite position s BUT that transition move from back swing plane to power swing plane is the same me as far as palm up palm down positions

Good to know.

Right on and works great as long as your timing of the strike is perfect.Might add that it helps to stay loose and only firm up at the bottom.Unfortunately all of the methods of ball striking require good timing and that comes and goes and thus the love ,hate of golf comes in.

Excellent.

Thanks. Most people need to try and get the back of the left hand turning toward the ground. It feels different but promotes solid contact ball striking.

Other top Pros use this hand method. Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, and best of all Tiger Woods. Check them out in Slow Motion.
@ag3583 жыл бұрын
Johnson and koepka are closed at the top and work to keep it from closing further in the downswing, hogan was open at the top and closed it during downswing, Phil is open at the top also, Johnson bowed his wrist from the start, hogan did bow his wrist but right before impact, bobby jones was an open face player. Johnson and koepka are shut face players, hogan is open face player. This debate on which is better goes back to the 1920s. They are both square at impact if done properly. Johnson and koepka holds the face during downswing, basically keeps it from closing further, hogan and jones closes theirs during downswing, the bowed wrist has nothing to do with the type of swing, you can bow with either, also jack Nicholas is an open face player.

Do you know of any pros that still swing like this? Name a few. It works imo
@Thesecretofhogansswing7 жыл бұрын
The one that comes to mind immediately is Sergio Garcia. You can tell he has his right palm to the sky and through the impact area turns the right palm to the ground and wipes. Very effective in slow motion to teach individuals not to scoop.
@janicekogut28557 жыл бұрын
Thanks tomber, I'll watch some slo mo of Sergio.

really cool !!! i just notice that i picked up more distance with no effort.....
@Thesecretofhogansswing4 жыл бұрын
Yes with the left palm up and the right palm down you get a more boring ball flight by slightly de-lofting the clubface.
@chachifeere3 жыл бұрын
i can do the palm down on half swing but on full swing my hand is back and I flip also have a real hard time keeping my left at straight at impact
@Thesecretofhogansswing3 жыл бұрын
Keep at it. It will eventually happen.

It is not that easy as u said. I would like to know if u r a pro or just a player.
@Thesecretofhogansswing5 жыл бұрын
It's not easy. It takes quite a bit of practice. First without hitting a ball, getting use to the motion. Then short swings and then full shots when you can command the short shots.
@rmcbride72943 жыл бұрын
First time a tried this method I birdied the 1st hole. What I really noticed was the getting out of the rough was effortless. This should be one’s only swing thought.

U will hook the ball this way.

Nice lesson, but you focus so much on the right hand, I was taught to use your method but also to roll my knuckles down on my left hand at the top of the backswing to flatten my left wrist so that both hands work together.
@Thesecretofhogansswing3 жыл бұрын
Yes but on the downswing. The roll of the knuckles down happens as the swing is approaching the hitting area.
