The eldest of four sons, Ben Lennon was born into a musical family in Kiltyclogher, Co. Leitrim in 1928 and began playing the fiddle at just 10 years of age.
He left Kiltyclogher for England in 1949 and following in his father’s footsteps he studied the clothing trade in London before returning to work in Limerick, Cork and later Donegal where he met and played with an interesting array of local musicians. He was awarded LifeTime Achievement Award at the TG4 Music Awards Ceremony in Wexford Opera House 2011.
