why depress shoulders? the elbow is a hinge joint so scapular position does not change tricep length. So by allowing your traps to elevate you eliminate energy leak (wasting energy) from the scapular depressors (T4, serratus, pec minor). This allows you to use all energy on tricep isolation. Also, retract shoulders and press your triceps against the lats to get the max contraction and bring out the peak (since triceps are a biarticulate muscle)
@kyrie44516 жыл бұрын
Jason Macm proximal instability from scapular elevation will reduce the consistancy of the tension, force output and stability on the elbow joint.

Any idea what I could do about it? Or any exercises that I can do to still give my tricips a big workout? Thanks in advance!

what's the diffrence if you are on your knees or when u are standing to do rope pds ?
@ConroyneHarvester998 жыл бұрын
+Richard “Lariatas” Bright Because he is using two ropes to do the pulldown, if he was standing up the weight stack would hit the bottom before his triceps became fully lengthened. If he was only using one rope he would probably be able to do it standing up.
