Dude... this single word at 3:23: "ebbes" for saying "etwas", or "something" that is so much from a certain area here in germany! That is east and south of Stuttgart, that is "Ostalbkreis" and "Allgäu", that is so spot on and so area-bound... !

I’m 8th-generation Pennsylvania Dutch from Lehigh County, and we use the word “eppes” for “something.” When I visited Germany in 1999, we found a lot of Schnecks living in the area around Stuttgart. Many of my German ancestors came from the Rhineland- Palatinate.

@@darleneschneck My half brother's wife used to be called Schneck. Yes, her Family comes from the area Schönbuch, Böblingen, west of Stuttgart.

@@SamCarachathat’s interesting! When I was in Germany in 1999, we passed through the town of Hagelloch west of Tubigen. We saw a Schneck Bakery and asked our bus driver to stop. All of us Schnecks went into the store and we bought all of their Schnecken! The owner told us that half the people in that town are related to a Schneck. We have not yet determined which town our ancestor emigrated from in 1749, but we believe he lived in that area, which is also near where your brother’s wife is from.

@@darleneschneck Nice! I lived in Tübingen for my studies and I know Hagelloch pretty well. Sadly the specific bakery closed in 2022/23 after 92 years, as well as many family run bakeries in the area. But as far as I know in this case in Hagelloch another baker took over, so there is at least someone still selling Schnecken 🤗 How small the world can be sometimes!

Interessant!
