I had an opinion he didn't like and couldn't argue against so he said "well when you pay as much in taxes as me I'll listen to what you have to say" and I said "Oh, so you think the more taxes you pay the greater voice in government you should have?" which he replied "Yes.". Then I said "Okay, so you think hollywood celebrities should have more of a voice in government than you? Because they pay WAY more taxes than you do.". @@limitisillusion7 greed is by definition bad, it's more than you need. The thing about greed is that it has proven to be a remarkably consistent trait. It seems to me like the world is largely made out of greedy people and people that haven't had the opportunity to be greedy yet. The number of people who won't find a justification for any and every dime that goes into their bank account or every car or house they buy is very few. Most people aren't actually willing to live a minimalistic lifestyle once *they* are the boss or CEO. When most people go from poverty to financial success, they shift from the perspective that greed is evil and the system is broken to the perspective that the system is working because it's working for them. Perhaps worse, some know the system doesn't work, but they accept that they've found a way to make it work for themselves and a few they can help and they go on ignoring the collapsing foundation in the name of taking care of their own. It's just a vicious cycle. If you make people struggle and they manage to get to a place free of struggle, they are going to make sure they don't fall back in again. This life is nothing more than competing for survival, and money nearly directly translates into survival... For the time being. People are both your greatest ally and your worst enemy, and if you don't assume the worst, you will lose to the snakes from time to time. But if you assume the worst, you will also lose opportunities to make allies. And people call me a pessimist... All this time I thought I was just a realist. Turns out, I'm both.

I think we should give every member of congress a fat pension; like $1 mil a year, and make it illegal for them to have any income from any other source for the rest of their life, (and have publicly funded elections). Cut off as many avenues of corruption as possible. It’d be a small price to pay to end corruption .

"If you're wealthy, you don't have much to lose." What??? That is the dumbest shit I've heard him say in a long time. If you're wealthy, you have MORE to lose. It's why the rich fight tooth and nail to stop taxes from being raised on themselves. Why everything in this country has to be for-profit, no matter how detrimental it is to the majority. It's the major reason why we don't have most of the guaranteed life-saving policies that the majority of the rest of the world have...because if it costs the wealthy a little bit of money in higher taxes or they can't charge outrageous prices to increase their wealth, it's essentially banned in the United States.

Watching hollywood when I was a little boy I envisioned the American Dream. Being a foreigner I just had the idea working hard and smart I could go to America and become successful. Nowadays watching videos like this I thank my lucky stars I didn't go to that crazy shit hole. It's like there is so much hate for the rich there. Even Russians love their rich more and they were communists. I have seen the tax rates there and they are crap. The taxes the rich have to pay.. No wonder so many billionaires are leaving America. The ideological clashes we see on social media have gotten so bad that even foreigners understand if they don't tone it a bit down it will become a civil war soon.

"Ben Shaprio" argues for more successful people in office that have proven they can create and lead. Don't confuse elitists with people who genuinely know what they're doing. It's painfully obvious that electing people off the streets who lack any real job or leadership experience or any actual expertise HAS NOT worked out. You know why we have such issues in this country? Because we have an extremely dumbed down leadership nucleus in way too many areas of society. It's not any surprise that the softer we've been on setting leadership standards and expectations of effort, we've become softer and weaker overall.

I don't remember Senator Hobo. Remember the Ump-thousandth Senator Trust-fund Baby though. "You know why we have such issues in this country?
