My trust in the media was damaged many years ago. In the late 1970s I still subscribed to three news magazine and other print publications but I began to let my subscriptions expire when I saw the obvious decline in quality. Even before that when I was overseas I was comparing the reality I saw on the ground to what was reported in the media which was often mixed with opinion rather than straight fact.
