One of the best youtube woodworkers that takes extra time to explain things in a understansable way. And using the metric is a plus, since i get lost in other youtube woodworking videos with the imperial measures. Great job.

Thanks! The turn around time on the video was super fast. This looks like the best way to get accurate 20mm dog holes on the 32mm system. Appreciate you sharing with us.

I actually can’t believe the results on this. Major precision. I posted my affiliate link for it in the description if you’re planning on purchasing it. It’s also 10% off this weekend on this and the entire TSO website. I posted that link as well.

The Parf guide system's been marketed for a while by Axminster Tools here in the UK. I think it's good for creating custom hole patterns and would be overall cheaper for the professional than repeatedly buying CNC tops. It's a bit overkill for me as retired a hobbyist, and at my age I'm not going to get through a lot of tops through heavy usage. ! I'll probably opt for a CNC machined top and dogs set since it will be considerably cheaper for me.

I think the system really shines where you can make customizable tops for cutting stations but for me it’s definitely worth it for replacing my mft3 tops, making the new assembly table and I’ll be making a Paulk smart bench for jobsites. For me this is a gem 💎

That is greatly appreciated. I’m glad that these tools are useful to everyone. I wouldn’t be putting it out there otherwise. I’m not like those other KZbinrs trying to sell you anything to make a buck. I only advertise what I use and what a actually works.

@@AnthonyScolaro1 That's one of the main reasons I favor your channel over many others with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. It always seems that, at some point, it becomes less about the content, and all about affiliations and sponsorships. Regardless of any product you've shown, I've never got the "salesman trying to make a quick buck" vibe. Keep it up. 👍

I see that Axminster Tools raised their USD price to $230. Last week, it was actually cheaper to buy it from the UK and pay $33 shipping than to get it from TSO. That's one of the things on which I tried to use the 15% off code to get the prices more in line. I guess I missed-out, but that happens sometimes when you're on a budget.

I know you've been switching over to metric for cabinet work. You should put together a video on tape measures and rules you have tried that are available in the states and other tips you've learned. I'm looking for that info and there's not really much hitting on KZbin. I'm grabbing the true 32 to lay out a table like this. Probably get the fat max 5m metric only too. I have at least 5 of the imperial versions and it's my default for field work currently. I'm also looking at folding stick rules. Anyway, my point is that there is a void in content that would be perfect for affiliate links.

Is it really difficult somehow to just layout the holes and drill them up ? If you take the time to get them marked correctly I don't see the reason to spend hundreds of dollars on these fancy jigs.
@AnthonyScolaro1
@AnthonyScolaro1 10 ай бұрын
You will never get the holes exact and at perfect 90 degrees and 45 to each other without some sort of jig or CNC machine, no matter how careful you are or how much time you take. Trust me.

Your plywood appears to larger than 18mm, what thickness are you using. Also, do have have any additional cross bracing supporting the center section of the plywood?
@AnthonyScolaro1
@AnthonyScolaro1 8 ай бұрын
It’s 18mm. I just added extra 18mm strips to the outer edges of the underside. You can see it in my video where I make this top. Head to my channel and you’ll see the video where I replace the workbench top.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy and mft top and use that as a template?
@AnthonyScolaro1
@AnthonyScolaro1 4 ай бұрын
I have a video on how to use pegboard for this if you’re really looking for a cheap way to do it. Even buying an mft top will only get you the accuracy of that section you put it on. You would still need some really long 20mm dogs to drop into the holes to line it up, so no it’s not really cheaper to buy an mft top.
