Bench Grinder Safety

Grinders typically do around 3000 rpm. Wheel limits are often around 5000 rpm or 35 m/s rim speed.

What are you're thoughts on reversing the direction of disc spin for knife blade sharpening?

Not advisable. The wheel may come off if reversed. RH wheel has RH thread. LH wheel a LH thread.

thanks i was thinking about getting one dont wear gloves on the wire wheel they can get snagged and destroy your hands

Ah it’s the wire wheel specifically. I thought the gloveless rule was for the entire machine but I misunderstood ty

@@kirkendauhl6990 I only use gloves when I work with handtools. Better get a cut then a maching catching your hands.
